AMD has posted an interesting image on its blog. According to this image, a new feature will be unveiled on March February 26th. This feature will be called tressfx and is said to be a new frontier of realism in PC gaming. The aforementioned image shows a girl (or more importantly her hair), suggesting that this could very well be AMD’s answer to Nvidia’s PhysX technology. PC sim racing fans, get ready for a treat. KUNOS Simulazioni has released a technology preview demo for its upcoming racer, Assetto Corsa. According to the developers, this is a playable, no-time limited benchmark that allow gamers to get their first taste of Assetto Corsa engine. Polycount’s 3D artist ‘RTshaders’ has created an amazing mini-game, in which players can dance to the rhythm of Gangnam style. What’s really incredible here is that this mini-game was created via Unity 3D Engine and sports some incredible visuals. In fact, the city that we get to see in the background looks close to what we’d expect from next-generation open world games. If only we could explore it. Fact No.1: the latest Ridge Racer game felt a bit awkward. Fact No.2: Fans of Bugbear expected something closer to FlatOut, while Ridge Racer fans expected something closer to… Ridge Racer. Fact No.3: Bugbear offered something completely new instead of a new Ridge Racer game. Fact No.4: The company has just released a teaser trailer from its upcoming next car game, that looks really close to a next-generation version of FlatOut. According to the devs, this teaser trailer features in-game, real-time footage. Our guess is that Bugbear will officially unveil this new racing game in the coming days, so stay tuned for more! Our dear readers, unfortunately our GTX 690 has not arrived yet, meaning that our Performance Analysis for Crysis 3 will get slightly delayed. As you may have heard, though, the first level of Crysis 3 seems to be behaving really strange, even on high-end PC systems. Ironically, it appears that the game suffers from some optimization issues, as modder MaLDo has discovered that the ropes physics are causing big performance hits for no apparent reason.
