Phosphor Games Studio has released an Unreal Engine 4 Tech Demo for its upcoming game that will be powered by Epic’s next-generation engine, Project Awakened. As the team described, this is an early demonstration of the detail level and rendering effects they plan to give players as part of the Project Awakened Create-a-Player system. It looks cool, and way better than its UE3 counterpart that was shown off when the game’s Kickstarter campaign launched. Speaking of that, this game might not see the light of day as it has only raised $200K and there are 5 days left to it. Therefore, if you’re interested in it, go ahead and back it up! However, it seems that CryEngine 3 is being pushed to its limits with those physics calculations that were introduced. Ironically, all physics are calculated by the CPU, meaning that you will nee a really top of the line CPU in order to enjoy it. But more on this later. Ever wondered what a modern-day version of Minecraft would look like? Well, the man behind VoxelFarm had – most probably – the same question in his head when he started creating it. Miguel and some friends will be creating a game with this tech that will allow large numbers of players to come together, or play solo if they want to. The core idea will be to explore new interesting places, claim them, and develop them. Miguel has released two new videos for this engine that can be viewed below. And it’s official everyone. Ubisoft has confirmed – via its Twitter account – that the next Assassin’s Creed game will be called Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and will be focused on pirates. Well, at least that’s what this new image suggests that was shared by the French company. Ubisoft has also stated that more information about this fourth part of the Assassin’s Creed series will be unveiled this Monday at 6pm CET. We’ll definitely hold on before passing judgement, however we’ll be disappointed if rumors are true and players control Haytham’s father. Seriously, if that happens, AC4 will be exactly like the ‘Lost’ TV mini-series; no ending and constant changes based on the last episode of it. Enjoy the following image teaser and stay tuned for more! Continue reading Ubisoft Confirms Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, More Details Coming This Monday→
