CryEngine 3 modders were put to the test this week. A member of CryDev posted a real grass image, and a number of modders decided to recreate it in CryEngine 3. Modder the_grim was the first who posted a recreation of it, and we have to say that the modder came pretty close to the real thing. Moreover, modders AkiRa, Benkeeling, darkchazz, EliteGhost, InspiredMind, maxmead, PogoP, scotthomer and Zepic have showcased some of their work-in-progress projects. Enjoy! It appears that EA’s German Facebook page has revealed something that was not meant to. According to a tab – that has already been fixed – Battlefield 4 is supposedly coming on October 31st on PC, X360 and PS3. This is rumored to be the European launch date, however EA was quick to react and issued a statement on its German Facebook page. As you may already know, the closed beta phase of Company of Heroes 2 has been launched. Capcom has revealed the PC system requirements for its upcoming sci-fi third person game, Remember Me. In addition, the Japanese company has unveiled the first PC screenshots that can be viewed below. Remember Me will support the DX9 API and all of Microsoft’s operating systems (Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8). Moreover, it seems that there won’t be any DX11 features as there isn’t any hint about that particular API in the recommended requirements. Remember the amazing 2001 version of Duke Nukem Forever? Oh I bet most of us we’d kill to play that version instead of what Gearbox and 3D Realms offered us. And since this isn’t going to happen anytime soon, Gambini & Mikko Sandt decided to recreate the maps featured in DNF’s 2001 trailer in Duke Nukem 3D. The end result is quite amazing (for a retro title), and you can view a trailer for it below. This mod is planned for an April 15th release, and even though the trailer was uploaded on April 1st, Gambini has added some screenshots to this mod’s ModDB page on April 4th. Great news for all Torment fans as Torment: Tides of Numenera’s Kickstarter campaign has been a big success. Torment: Tides of Numenera is now the highest Kickstarter-funded game, and has managed to surpass its highest stetch goal (though inXile has added two new stretch goals). Therefore, inXile Entertainment will now create the game of their dreams, a game that will have an enormous world in which Chris Avellone, creator of the first Torment game, will help crafting it.
