You know, time after time, there comes a game which has a really amazing concept but the gameplay falls short of amazing, even though you can see its potential. Today, I will be looking at some games that were really ambitious but they either, didn’t sell well or were not polished in terms of gameplay. It is games like these that I really wish, developers would take another chance with and try to release a better sequel or prequel… or even reboot them entirely. Yesterday, we informed you about a one hour long video from the alpha version of Battlefront 3. Well, it seems we have another video that was leaked just a couple of hours ago. Spotted by Reddit’s member ‘zacattack101’ and posted by Vimeo’s ‘Blue_Monkey’, this video shows the game in its Alpha stage, and the stage it was at when it was cancelled. Despite being really low-res, the framerate in this video is great so we highly recommend watching it. Enjoy! Continue reading Star Wars: Battlefront 3 Alpha – Yet Another Leaked Video→

Today we bring you new shots from modders EliteGhost, the_grim, Exer, iSqueezee, maxmead, silentss, TheMagnumman357 and ultranew_b. The highlight of this week is the ocean recreation via CryEngine 3. We’ve also included some videos from the indie CE3 title StoneRage, a HD FX/Particles mods that is a must-have (can be downloaded from here) and a video demonstration (from modder Mike Geebus) of what CryEngine 3’s modded ocean can look like. Enjoy! Continue reading Weekly CryEngine 3 Gallery [April 28th – May 4th]; water never looked this good before→
Past To Present Online has posted an one hour long video from the leaked build of Star Wars: Battlefront III. Star Wars: Battlefront III won’t be released anytime soon as Lucas Arts has gone downhill. Yes, there are some rumors about other studios picking it up (alongside Star Wars 1313) but they are just that, rumors. And as we can clearly see from this footage, Star Wars: Battlefront III was still in a really early stage. Nevertheless, it had potential. Enjoy! Back in December 2012, we claimed that Far Cry 3 was the most optimized game for the PC platform. As we said back then, we only judged the DX9 version of it as we could not test its DX11 path (due to our previous GPU). Fast forward a couple of months and here we are today with our GTX690 and Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, the standalone expansion that is powered by the same engine. So, time to see whether Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is as optimized as its predecessor or not. Continue reading Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon – PC Performance Analysis→
Fun fact; earlier this morning I was listening to the OST from the SNES version of Jurassic Park and was wondering why there weren’t any good dino games. Fast forward a couple of hours and here we are with The Stomping Land, an indie third-person dino game. Okay, we don’t know if this will actually be a good game or not, however it has potential. Continue reading The Stomping Land Is A New Dinosaur Game, Prototype Trailer Released→
It seems that Avalanche Studios has faith in the F2P model, a model that will obviously take off in the next couple of years. After Crytek’s statements about going full F2P, Avalanche Studios’ Founder & CTO, Linus Blomberg, stated that the company will continue making F2P titles on the PC, and that they’ll start doing it on consoles and mobiles too.
