Strategy fans, here is something special for you today. SEGA has unveiled the debut gameplay trailer for Creative Assembly’s upcoming Total War game, Total War: Rome II. Total War: Rome II promises to combine the most expansive turn-based campaign and the largest, most cinematic real-time battles yet seen in any game, and if this gameplay trailer is anything to go by, it will able to achieve something like that. Far Cry 3 – Offloading graphical effects to the CPU, differences between PC and console builds

Rage3D’s member ‘Napoleonic’ has spotted an interesting PDF from Ubisoft’s Far Cry 3 GDC 2012 presentation. In this presentation, Ubisoft has highlighted the differences between the PC and the console builds of Far Cry 3, and revealed that some of the graphical effects will be offloaded to the CPU in order to save some additional GPU cycles. Thief 2 and System Shock 2 Get New Unofficial Patches That Improve Their Visuals

Imagine our surprise when we found out that two – mysterious and unofficial – patches went live for two of PC’s classic FPS titles, Thief 2 and System Shock 2. These unofficial patches appeared on French forum Ariane4ever and were uploaded by “Le Corbeau”. What’s really interesting here is that these patches overhaul the games’ visuals, as they add support for 32-bit color, as well as a single display mode option (meaning no resolution change between menus and game) and mousewheel support for the menus.
