Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered

Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered is Sony’s fastest selling game on PC

During its FY22 Q2 financial call, Sony stated that Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered was its fastest selling game on PC. Although the company did not reveal any sales figures, Steamspy hints that the game has at least sold 1 million copies on PC.

Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered is a great PC game that was a bit too heavy on the CPU. The team that handled the PC port was Nixxes. Unfortunately, though, there are currently no plans to provide any additional CPU optimizations to the game. Thankfully for NVIDIA owners, the game’s October 12th Update added support for NVIDIA DLSS 3. DLSS 3 manages to improve overall performance in CPU-bound scenarios, as demonstrated here.

Sony will now release Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales on PC on November 18th. Furthermore, Nixxes has implemented new Ray Tracing effects for shadows (alongside the previous RT effects for reflections).

Speaking of Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered, we suggest taking a look at these mods. This mod brings back the original PS4 Peter Parker face to the game. On the other hand, this mod adds an over-the-shoulder camera viewpoint, similar to the one used in the Batman Arkham games. And lastly, there is a first-person mod that is in development (though we don’t have any ETA on when it will come out).

Stay tuned for more!

    1. Same brother, the initial woomph looses its charm fast . None of the characters are appealing especially Mary Jane !! The side quests quests are abysmal tbh I forgot everything about plot lol ?

      1. Yep, after finishing it i replayed the Arkham games just to make sure that it wasn’t just nostalgia of the series making me judge Spider man harsher than i should.

Lou and behold no, it wasn’t. it just became more clear how an “okay” experience Spider Man truly was, specially since i still find Asylum from 2009 a much better experience than Spider Man despite being dated in some aspects the game still holds incredibly well, hell i think the only real fault i could think about the game is that it has a lot of back tracking.

    2. It is an open world game like every other open world game. Except this one does not have an ubisoft logo on it.

  1. Getting 3% cpu usage using dlss 3. Not sure that’s accurate but it’s like an 80+% drop.

On a separate note, it’s odd how poorly uncharted 4 has been selling on PC. I’ve played it before and still got it on pc and it still holds up. Probably a better game than Spider-Man actually and it’s cheaper too. Shrug

    1. Sony is nothing but hype from peasants. Their games are mediocre at best.
PC gamers (minus the people who play games with controllers, aka ex-console peasants) are just not interested in scripted crap.

      1. PC gamers are not some gaming connoisseurs with their love for multiplayer crap, no-life MMOs, and bloated open world games that are nothing but time waste. Ubisoft’s PC business is bigger than ever rivalling both consoles combined. Sure, that is an indication of quality-seekers.

        1. Interactive movie where you press a single button for everything = Quality
          Challenging games = Reeeeeeee
          Gotcha

        2. Do you have a source for ubisoft pc business? I think that’s great! I imagine it’s more driven by R6, for honor, brawlhalla and maybe far cry rather than ACreed, watch dogs and ghost recon. Basically, multiplayer games

      2. Agree 100%
…but i don’t think the rest of the market does. Everything is consolized and casualized these days, no more masterpieces like the 90s and early 00s.

        1. Low quality braindead products for braindead audience I guess.
I’d bet my life that these people defending trash games like uncharted 4 have never played original tomb raider games.

    2. Saying I love this game would be an understatement (this and Bloodborne were the sole reason I bought a console for the first time in my life), but starting from the fourth main game makes no sense. The story and most characters lose their impact without knowing their previous history. People were waiting for the Trilogy + 4 (which Sony could have ported easily since Bluepoint already remastered them for PS4). Also, announcing it in the middle of one of their heavily PS5-focused trailers did it no favour. Releasing it in such a busy month when most of people’s money was already drained by new releases and CoD was suicide.

On a side not, It’s funny to me how the game’s forum on Steam was filled with PCMustardRace complaining about AVX2 requirement (a feature supported since Intel Core ix-4xxx CPUs).

      1. Hadn’t thought that people somehow didn’t play the first 3 but that makes sense. As does the rest of you post. Thanks!

    3. Yeah, you might need some extra assistance in your vision. This v.PC Uncharted looks very dated compared HZD, Miles, and GoW in MoCap, destruction, etc.

      1. I only played the intro boat sequence on pc but it looked spectacular (65” oled 4k120). Only played Hzd intro bits but the faces looked rather awful. Haven’t played Miles. Have barely touched Spiderman. Haven’t played GoW in nearly 4 years (replay on pc is part of my backlog) but played it right after my initial UC 4 play through and thought they were comparable at the time.

  2. Sony Please Bring to PC :
    – Killzone Trilogy (PS3)
    – Uncharted Trilogy (PS3)
    – Resistance Trilogy (PS3)

    1. Killzone 1 is too bad and too old to be ported as is. I doubt sony would do that when they can remaster or remake it and make more money. For that to happen though, they would need to release a successful Killzone game to drive consumer interest, problem is, it’s expensive and risky. They would rather just remaster TLOU2 for and Horizon Forbidden West next.

      GoW 1-3, acension
      Uncharted 1-3
      Resistance 1-3
      Infamous 1-2
      Bloodborne
      Ratchet and Clank
      MGS 1-4
      Drakengard
      Ratchet and clank
      motorstorm etc etc.

      Killzone is a moneysink!

      1. I just want Killzone 2 & 3 as it is with some few tweaks ( +200 fps, HDR, RT, FSR/DLSS, 4K ) …. etc no need to rebuild th whole engine , Killzone 2 still beautiful (Like Crysis 2007)

      2. We need BloodBorne on PC real bad. Modders can fix the a*s framerate, and then create new content. That is the dream anyway.

  3. I thought pc players were supposed to be smarter than pissstation players? These sales stats make me question that.
