Modder ‘Zethras’ has released a new mod for Dark Souls 3 that brings to it an unofficial Easy Mode. Now what’s cool about this mod is that it’s not a trainer that makes you an invincible God. Instead, it cleverly makes some adjustments in order to make the whole experience a bit easier.
Going into more details, Easy Souls III features three custom difficulties. These are: Easy, VeryEasy and UltraEasy.
Easy Mode basically increases the amount of souls you gain by 25%. It also lowers the damage you take by 25%, and increases the damage you make to enemies by 25%. In VeryEasy Mode, the percentages are at 50%, and in UltraEasy, the percentages are at 75%.
As the modder noted, all the above changes have been carried over to every NG cycle, keeping the same balance of the main game.
For example, if an enemy did 100 damage with a sword strike and gave 1000 souls upon dying, while dealing 200 damage and giving 2000 souls in NG+, if you use, say, the UltraEasy version of this mod that same enemy will inflict 25 damage and give 1750 souls on standard game, and will deal 50 damage with 3500 souls given upon death in NG+.
Those interested can download the mod from here.
Finally, and speaking of Elden Ring, here are some other cool free mods that you can download for it. This mod adds seamless co-op functionalities to the game, and this mod introduces an unofficial Survival Mode. Then we have this mod that adds 20+ weapons and 30+ armors to it. Flawless Ultrawide is another must-have mod as it enables support for ultra-wide resolutions/monitors. There is also an unofficial Photo Mode. Furthermore, this mod will unlock the game’s framerate. And lastly, you can download an HD Texture Pack for it.
As a bonus, here is a video showcasing a few other graphics mods for the game!

John is the founder and Editor in Chief at DSOGaming. He is a PC gaming fan and highly supports the modding and indie communities. Before creating DSOGaming, John worked on numerous gaming websites. While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2. John has also written a higher degree thesis on the “The Evolution of PC graphics cards.”

Johnny! Have you tested The Callisto protocol, there have been three 5 GB patches since your last test. Is it still bound to 1 CPU core ? Or has it been fixed ?
Thx 4 sharing bro.
“BLASPHEMY!!!!!” I cry as I rend my “Get Gud” t-shirt ……..
The idea that some people have a life outside of gaming, is probably a shocking discovery to the average sweaty Elden Ring basement dweller.
Then why play a Souls game at all. Nobody’s forcing you to play it. It might just not be for you…
Only with WeMod.
Why care if someone makes an easy mode? No one is forcing you to use it ….
Because there are not that many AAA games developers left that make games for a relatively niche audience. Gamers that actually miss the challenge most older games provided, which is why Souls games became popular. They are challenging by nature and introducing a mode for casuals goes against that.
No kidding …. If I’m going to do something hard and challenging I’ll design a sensor mesh network for a 30 story building, at least I’ll make a ton of money for my efforts ….. Getting Gud at Dark Souls pays like sh*t ……
The industry is filled with easy games, people asking for an Easy Mode for a naturally difficult game are a problem, just play your yearly COD and Assassin’s Creed and stop b*tching about the difficulty on a difficult game.
Some games are not meant for everyone and that’s OK, it’s like asking for an Autoaim function for CSGO because “I hAvE No tImE aNd I mUsT WiN” this is ridiculous
So how does someone making an easy mode harm you in any way shape or form? It’s silly and juvenile
Nope a mod made by the community doesn’t bother me at all, but people asking the devs for an official easy mode are bothering me because they have plenty of games if they don’t have time or if they just suck, they’re putting additional pressure on one of the few devs who dare to make challenging games without compromises to please the casual “Cinematic Experience” enjoyer.
I didn’t comment the topic, i just replied to a stupid comment to explain why DS fans are upset about casual gamers asking for an easy mode, as if casual gamers didn’t ruin countless games and turned them into generic trash
I call BS …. Why? Because all that was needed was to change 4 or 6 values in the regulation.bin file which would take like 5 minutes. A few lines of code to create a toggle between those settings and the normal and then a few more lines of code to add it to the settings GUI
Maybe an entire hour of work for an average programmer
I also call BS on your Elitist entitled attitude towards the majority of gamers
Elitism is when i don’t want new people to play my favorite game, not when i just want them to play it the way it should, if you use a community mod good for you, but if you ask the dev to change his mentality just to please you instead of doing some effort then fck you
The idea that IT IS YOUR choice NOT to play ANY of those games does not compute in the colored hair insanes complaining and reeeing about an easy mode.
Johnny! Have you tested The Callisto protocol, there have been three 5 GB patches since your last test. Is it still bound to 1 CPU core ? Or has it been fixed ?
Still CPU-bound, you can only overcome its CPU issues with a more powerful CPU. Our new Ryzen 9 7950X3D can push over 70fps at all times with Ray Tracing at 1080p. The game still performs horribly on the 9900K though (and cannot take advantage of multiple CPU cores/threads).
Runs better on AMD cards.
So can my new 5900x! 73 fps in benchmarks. I play however in 1920 x 1080 as I dont see a reason to be caught up in another 4K/60 fps war which is blatantly pushed by Nvidia. Questions like does it really look better in 2K or 4K, well does it ? This was achieved with a GTX card too! (This will soon change however) But NO John must go full in and get a RTX 4090. No video were you just insert the card, saw getting it in was not easy, so tell us all how you did it! This 7950X3D of yours what is this 3D part all about? Another gimmick ? Like Raytracing ?
Next stop: Journalist mode
Changelog: Enemies do not attack.
Gr3at post, thanx.
Thx 4 sharing bro.
Zzzzzzzz
This probably still won’t be good enough for today’s typical games journalist. Maybe someone will come up with an “autopilot mode” where you can just watch the game play itself while you consider the more important socio-political implications of the game.
Currently the 8th most popular Elden Ring mod on Nexus in only 10 days with 194,000+ downloads ….. The 7 above it were all made in March – May 2022 so it’s likely to head to the top of the list in a couple of months
isn’t that ds2 in the banner?
Honestly I don’t think it needed an easy mode. If you got an actual life, like most people (especially those who don’t claim “for people with an actual life.” yea like you have one) then why play games if that’s your argument?
DS3 is easy in itself. Don’t agree? Then boo-hoo ni**a
Thanks for the spotlight guys! 😀
