EIDOS Montreal is working on the next part of the Thief series, Thief 4. Although we don’t know much about it, EIDOS Montreal promised to offer gameplay that would be similar to the one of Deus Ex: Human Revolution. In addition, Thief 4 will be powered by Unreal Engine 3. Great news for all old-school FPS fans as Totalbiscuit has revealed the first in-game footage of the upcoming Painkiller remake, Painkiller Hell & Damnation. This new Painkiller will feature better physics effects, boss fights and better graphics. Painkiller Hell & Damnation is under development by The Farm 51 and is powered by Epic’s Unreal Engine 3. Israeli Animation College Production created an amazing video, in which they showcase Battlefield 3’s Conquest mode in real life. This is really an amazing live action video as it looks quite similar to Battlefield 3. There are explosions, tanks, helicopters and… the running animation of the medic class is simply lovely. There are some montage issues (and the tank vs heli sequence could be better) but still, it’s an astonishing fan-made video. Kudos to Israeli Animation College and this video made us wish for a Battlefield game with this kind of image fidelity. Damn, next generation can’t come any sooner. Now here is something interesting. DEEP is a new animated film based in a post-apocalyptic Earth where humanity has moved underwater to stay alive. It is being directed by Shane Acker, who previously worked on the Tim Burton produced 9, and is being animated by the Ireland-based Brown Bag Films, who previously made the Oscar nominated short films Give Up Yer Aul Sins and Granny O’Grimm.
