New Splendid Project CARS Screenshots Released

Project CARS v5

Slightly Mad Studios has released a new set of screenshots for its upcoming racer, Project CARS. As usual, all shots show purely in-game footage that has not been made in any special photo mode, using no post-processing or filters that aren’t available during the actual gameplay (though some users have used third party injector tools such as SweetFX). Project CARS is coming to PC, Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Wii U in 2014. Enjoy! Continue reading New Splendid Project CARS Screenshots Released

My Eyes Are Burning – New CryEngine 3 Screenshots Full Of Lens Flares Effects

CRYENGINE
CryEngine modders and indie developers have posted some new screenshots from their upcoming projects and holy batman do they love lens flares. We strongly suggest putting your sunglasses on before viewing them because some modders went overdrive with those new lens flares effects that were introduced in the latest build of the free CryENGINE SDK. The highlights of this week are Revan1199’s and USSR_GRAND’s maps. These two modders have created two amazing maps that do not rely on those annoying lens flares, so kudos to them. Enjoy! Next-Gen Will Be All About Lens Flares, New Screenshots From The Latest CryEngine SDK

CRYENGINE
Two weeks ago, we informed you about the release of the SDK for the latest version of CRYENGINE. Naturally, modders/artists/indie devs decided to take a look at this SDK and came up with some pretty… well… bizarre results. And from the looks of it, it seems that next-gen will be all about lens flares and some ‘in-your-face’ particles effects. Yes yes, some modders overused those effects in the following shots, but it’s pretty clear that every damn engine now supports those anamorphic lens flares. So, without further delay, we present you some new images and videos from CryDev’s members afsoft, big fish, darkchazz, DevGuy1975, Lavizh, Maximum-Dev, myth000, promuckaj, ReVan1199, Shapeshifter, kfrancis167 and USSR_GRAND. Enjoy! Continue reading Next-Gen Will Be All About Lens Flares, New Screenshots From The Latest CryEngine SDK

Splinter Cell: Blacklist – Modded Vs Vanilla Comparison

Splinter Cell Blacklist
As we’ve said in our Performance Analysis, there are some low-res textures included in the PC version of Splinter Cell: Blacklist. And that’s precisely why we can rely on SweetFX in order to improve the game’s IQ. Below you can find a comparison between two of our SweetFX settings. The first one is with subtle sharpening (and various tweaks to its mid-tones, shadows, saturation, curves levels and contrast) while the second one – the one we currently prefer and looks similar to what CDPR is doing with The Witcher 3 – has more sharpening. Project CARS Gets A New Set Of Gorgeous & Highly Detailed Screenshots

Project Cars Ford Focus RS v1
Slightly Mad Studios has released a new batch of screenshots for Project CARS. There is no doubt that pCars looks sexy, though we are a bit worried about its driving/physics mechanics that are not up to what Assetto Corsa and rFactor 2 are offering. Still, we are still way off until pCars gets out, so here is hoping that Slightly Mad Studios will further tweak them. And if it does not, at least we’ll be getting a really great looking racing game. Enjoy! Continue reading Project CARS Gets A New Set Of Gorgeous & Highly Detailed Screenshots
