Naturally, a lot of people criticized this project’s sand textures, which is perhaps why modder ‘PianoPolish’ decided to enhance them and release some new screenshots. Milestone and Vostok Games released new screenshots for WRC 4 and Survarium, respectively. Survarium is an online massive multiplayer shooter with first-person view. The events take place in the near future in the aftermath of an ecological catastrophe, in a world where only one man out of a hundred survived. WRC 4, on the other hand, promises to sport new features such as new lighting conditions, new weather effects depending on the stage, and a brand new Career Mode to put the player into real driver’s shoes. Slightly Mad Studios has released a new set of screenshots for its upcoming racer, Project CARS. As usual, all shots show purely in-game footage that has not been made in any special photo mode, using no post-processing or filters that aren’t available during the actual gameplay (though some users have used third party injector tools such as SweetFX). 2K Games has released some new screenshots for its upcoming basketball title, NBA 2K14. Developed by Visual Concepts, a 2K studio, NBA 2K14 is not yet rated by the ESRB. Even though the game has only be announced for current and next gen consoles, we are pretty sure that it will also hit our platform. CryEngine modders and indie developers have posted some new screenshots from their upcoming projects and holy batman do they love lens flares. We strongly suggest putting your sunglasses on before viewing them because some modders went overdrive with those new lens flares effects that were introduced in the latest build of the free CryENGINE SDK. The highlights of this week are Revan1199’s and USSR_GRAND’s maps. These two modders have created two amazing maps that do not rely on those annoying lens flares, so kudos to them. Enjoy! Two weeks ago, we informed you about the release of the SDK for the latest version of CRYENGINE. Naturally, modders/artists/indie devs decided to take a look at this SDK and came up with some pretty… well… bizarre results. And from the looks of it, it seems that next-gen will be all about lens flares and some ‘in-your-face’ particles effects.
