Zombie Studios has released the debut trailer for its upcoming “randomly generated” horror game that is powered by Epic’s Unreal Engine 4, Daylight. Daylight is planned for release on Steam later this year and promises to be the first 3rd party game that will be built with Epic’s latest game engine. With only the light of a cell phone to guide them, players will navigate the halls of a dark building as a woman who’s just woken up. What’s interesting here is that every experience will be different as rooms are randomly generated, and players will only learn about the game’s story via clues they discover as they explore. Enjoy the trailer and stay tuned for more! Continue reading Unreal Engine 4-powered horror game “Daylight” gets a debut trailer→

Codemasters has released a new video for GRID 2, featuring 25 minutes of gameplay footage from a number of stages and events. It looks kind of cool, though the driving mechanics look as arcade-ish as you can remember them to be from all previous Codemasters racers, and there is no cockpit you as you most probably already know. GRID 2 is planned for a May 31st release on PC, X360 and PS3. Enjoy! Continue reading GRID 2 – 25 Minutes Of Gameplay Footage Featuring Indianapolis, Chicago, Barcelona and Drift→

Torment: Tides of Numenera’s Kickstarter is quite a success and has already been funded (actually it was funded mere hours after the launch of the campaign). With 14 days left to it, inXile Entertainment has been wondering what its ultimate stretch goal could be. And since inXile is so friendly with Obsidian, these two companies came up with a great plan. So, if Torment’s Kickstarter hits $3.5 million, Chris Avellone – creator of the original Planescape: Torment title – will be added to the team. We’ve covered the Brigade Engine in the past, and – as we said back then – we are really looking forward to see what the team behind it can achieve. Our biggest gripe with the Brigade Engine was the noise side effects that were introduced due to the low lighting samples. Back then, those side effects were horrendous. Fast forward a couple of months though, and here we are today with a new video, showcasing what the engine is capable of right now. Thankfully, the noise has been reduced, though it is still noticeable. However, it isn’t as distracting as it was originally so kudos to the team. Not only that, but games similar to Amnesia could benefit from these noise effects. Enjoy the video, courtesy of Hayssam Keilany, creator of the iCEnhancer mod for GTA IV. Nvidia has released a new trailer for PlanetSide 2, showcasing the new PhysX effects that were introduced to it. These hardware-accelerated PhysX effects are said to increase the realism and fidelity of several game elements, adding to the spectacle and drawing players deeper into the action. Particle PhysX effects provide a more immersive experience for the game by adding particles that collide with the environment and litter the environment during battles. Question is whether SOE has implemented those features ideally without decreasing the GPU usage while those effects are enabled. Enjoy! Continue reading PlanetSide 2 – PhysX Trailer→
