GitHub user “TheSaltTrader” has released an unofficial PC version of Ninja Gaiden 2. The game first came out in 2008 as an Xbox 360 exclusive. Now, 18 years later, PC gamers can finally play it on their PCs without using an emulator.
Going into more detail, Ninja’s Dawn is a static recompilation of the Xbox 360 game. This means it is not an emulator. The game’s code is translated into native x86-64 code, so it runs as a Windows program. The port targets 60 FPS and adds many PC options.
The port supports Windows 10 and Windows 11. It also supports frame rates from 30 to 144 FPS, V-Sync, full-screen mode, custom window sizes, and monitor selection. You can also use ultrawide 3D support. This expands the view without stretching the image. Internal supersampling is also supported, with settings up to 8x.
Ninja’s Dawn also adds several visual options. These include anisotropic filtering, anti-aliasing, FidelityFX CAS, and a texture pack system. You can dump the game’s textures and upscale them. The port supports both Lanczos and Real-ESRGAN. The latter uses AI to add more detail to textures. The texture pack can also be switched on and off while the game is running.
The port includes useful PC features as well. You get keyboard controls, Xbox 360 save import, DLC support, and an in-game settings menu. There are also FPS, CPU, RAM, GPU, and VRAM readouts. A frame-time overlay and console are included too.
You can go ahead and download the latest version from here. As with all PC recompilations, it does not contain any in-game assets. This means that you’ll have to provide your own ISO of the Xbox 360 version. As I’ve said a million times, we won’t allow any download links to ROM or ISO files. So, don’t bother asking in the Comment section.
In case you are into projects like these, you can also download the unofficial PC ports of Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Crash Team Racing, and Duke Nukem: Zero Hour. You can also play The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask, Perfect Dark, and Jak & Daxter.
Furthermore, Brian Tate has brought the three classic SNES Donkey Kong Country games to PC. For our SNES fans, we also have a PC port of Star Fox. And, since we’ve already gotten four SNES games, I’d really love to see a PC version of Jurassic Park with KB&M support and HD textures. Now that would be awesome.
And that’s not all of them. We also have the unofficial PC ports of Mario Party 4, Sonic Unleashed, GoldenEye 007, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Silent Hill, and Super Smash Bros 64. Last month, we shared the unofficial PC ports of Gears of War 2 and Syphon Filter. Earlier this month, we shared the PC ports of Diddy Kong Racing and Ace Combat 6. Let’s also not forget the unofficial PC versions of Wave Race 64, Blue Dragon, and Pikmin. Finally, you can download the PC ports of Super Smash Bros. Melee, Spider-Man: Edge of Time, Tekken 3, Mario Kart Wii, and Pokemon Crystal.
Have fun!

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
