Playstation 4 emulator, RPCSX, can now boot its first commercial game

Earlier this month, we informed you about a new Playstation 4 emulator, called RPCSX. Created by Nekotekina, kd-11 and DH, the team behind the amazing RPCS3, this PS4 emulator looks promising. And from the looks of it, RPCSX can now boot its first commercial game.

Below you can find a video in which YouTube’s ‘BrutalSam’ showcases RPCSX launching the twin-stick shooter, We Are Doomed. And while this may not look that impressive to the average user, it’s a huge step for its dev team.

As we’ve already claimed, the most advanced Playstation 4 emulator for PC right now appears to be Spine. In January, we shared a video that showcased over 125 PS4 games running on it.

Aside from Spine, KytyfpPS4 and GPCS4 are among the best-known PS4 emulators. These emulators are not as good as Spine, though fpPS4 can also run numerous 2D games. Thus, it will be interesting to see how long will it take for RPCSX to reach Spine’s status.

RPCSX is still way behind the aforementioned emulators. Still, this is one of the most promising Playstation 4 emulators. The fact that RPCSX can already boot its first game, 14 days after its official reveal, is really cool.

Now I’d suggest tempering your expectations as RPCSX won’t be able to emulate Ghost of Tsushima, Bloodborne or The Last of Us Part II anytime soon. And, by the time it does, we may already have native PC versions of them. So yeah, while this is cool, it’s not as interesting as RPCS 3. At least in my opinion. After all, there are still some PS3 games that remain exclusive to that console and that will never come out on PC. Ironic right?

Anyway, those interested can download its latest public version from here.

Enjoy the video and stay tuned for more!

  1. What’s the point? The following games:

    Alienation
    Bloodborne
    Dreams
    Driveclub
    Killzone Shadow Fall
    Knack 1 2
    MediEvil remake
    The Order 1886
    Ratchet and Clank 2016
    Shadow of the Colossus remake
    WipEout Omega Collection

range from decent to trash, I’m not gonna even bother with the other propaganda tools masquerading as video games designed by manipulative K1keroaches to brainwash you to sympathize with the rainbow mafia subhumans and portrays them as “absolutely normal people!”

They should just focus on RPCS3 where it has many exclusives and non-PC games worth playing to this day, apparently that’s why RPCS3 has been progressing extremely slow this year, because sadly the core RPCS3 contributors have moved on to emulating this POS “gaming” console.

    1. Aside from Dream Club and Bloodborne none of the games are fun , I really don’t see this project being successful tbh .

    2. You forgot Gravity Rush 1 and 2. They’re not masterpieces by any means, but that series was something unique and original. Sadly soyny closed down the studio that made these so we may never see anything Gravity Rush related ever again.

  2. “RPCSX won’t be able to emulate… The Last of Us Part II anytime soon”

Every cloud has a silver lining!

  3. Hehehe, I knew it. After that hell they went through with ps3, they will eat ps4 alive in their spare time!
