Here are the first studios that will support Intel’s XeSS AI-driven upscaling tech

It appears that the list of the studios that will support Intel’s XeSS AI-driven upscaling tech has been leaked online. Although this list was meant to be revealed at CES 2022, we finally know which studios will support Intel’s answer to NVIDIA’s DLSS.

According to the leaked press release, 505 Games, EXOR Studios, Fishlabs, Codemasters, Hashbane, IO Interactive, Illfonic, Kojima Productions, Massive Work Studio, PUBG Studios, Techland, Ubisoft and Wonder People will support it.

Furthermore, this leaked document reveals Death Stranding Director’s Cut for PC. My guess is that Kojima Productions will officially reveal this at CES 2022. And although there isn’t any ETA on when it will come out, we do know that it will support XeSS.

Intel’s XeSS seems to be closer to NVIDIA’s DLSS than AMD’s FSR. Not only that, but it is GPU agnostic, meaning that the most recent GPUs from both AMD and NVIDIA can use it. This is great news as it will allow everyone to enjoy higher framerates with better image quality than AMD FSR (or other upscaling techniques). It will also be interesting to see whether it will be as good as DLSS.

Stay tuned for more!

  1. Man, this hilariously terrible “AI” phase needs to die already. Pseudo-performance through trickery, is not performance.

    1. bih what do you mean terrible ? have you even seen DLSS2.0 and the benchmarks and screenshots from this Intel tech ?
It”s legit leaving +40-50 fps on the table if you say no to it
      don’t be dense

    2. Lmao what trickery. Performance is performance. If it comes through algorithmic advancements or software optimizations vs hardware improvements, that’s still performance.

If a GPU manufacturer is finding ways to deliver performance beyond pure hardware improvements, that’s still a benefit to the users.

What consumers shouldn’t do however is settle for meagre performance gains from generation to generation.

    3. LOL. Are you a GPU scalper who’s @$$mad that nobody’s buying your hoarded product because they’re seeing performance benefits from DLSS on their old RTX 2000 series cards, that they bought before the Pandemic/chip shortage? Keep coping and seething!

  2. I wonder the performance penalty the algorithm will have on Nvidia gpus since it won’t be running on tensor cores

  3. All those marketing babel terms banging against each other oof. Most gaming class cards since 2019 can handle 2k/60/(high not wasted “ultra”) anyways and I’m including x60 level laptop cards too. I’m totally glad that ngreedia and their near monopoly will be reduced, the rtx racket is coming to an end. Hopefully this will all have some worthy use such as the wall plug power KWh coming down.

  4. 505, instead of fighting for their game, gave up and bent their rear-end over to Sony so they could make a small content update exclusive to the playstation platform for 6 months. And now, instead of offering a setting to modify pixel scaling above native resolution, we will get another useless image-destroying crap that will only empower the jagged edges in a game that has the worst AA implementation ever.

  5. Well the good thing about XeSS is that it’s platform agnostic. I know microsoft was working on similar image upscaling tech using DirectML, but I have no idea where they are with that one.

  6. Hearing your story about how your dad used to touch you at night really got to me. I hope you’re OK bro.

  7. “it will allow everyone to enjoy higher framerates with better image quality than AMD FSR”……who da f**k told you, Johnny boy ??? do you have a magic sphere? ahahahah
