Now here is something really cool. Modder ‘Sockman111’ has created a mod that transforms Valve’s classic Half-Life shooter into a top-down shooter, called Half-Life: Top-Down. The modder describes this mod as Hotline Miami or Enter the Gungeon, but with the levels, mechanics, and gunplay of Half-Life, and it’s heavily inspired by Quarter Fraction. Classic Half-Life gets ESRGAN AI-enhanced HD textures, available for download

Following the AI-enhanced texture packs for Morrowind, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Doom and Max Payne, here comes another one for Valve’s classic Half-Life game. Cyril Paulus has used ESRGAN and has updated all of the game’s textures, including the ones for the XEN levels. So yeah, while Black Mesa Xen is not available yet, we can get a small idea now of what a remastered version of the Xen levels could look like. Modder ‘Cobalt-57’ has announced that Half-Life Absolute Zero will release on February 12th, 2019. In case you weren’t aware of, Half-Life: Absolute Zero is a mod dedicated to recreating the pre-release versions of Half-Life. The team aims to recreate the art-style and chapters featured off in Half-Life builds from early to mid 1998, featuring all the chapters, monsters and weapons that never made it into the final build.
