Free trial for Shadow of the Tomb Raider will be available on Steam later today

Square Enix has announced that the Shadow of the Tomb Raider Free Trial will go live on the Windows via Steam later today. According to the press release, players will experience the beginning of Lara Croft’s latest adventure as they journey to Cozumel, Mexico in the midst of The Day of the Dead celebrations, where Lara and her trusted friend Jonah must race against Trinity to find a hidden tomb. Modder ‘Saika Darkmoon’ has released a new mod called Hairworks 2 that upscales every hair texture in the game to 4K, and hand-touches and downsamples them to 1K and 2K across the board. According to the modder, NieR Automata – Texture Pack V0.73 – Fall 2018 Update adds a remastered version of 2B, as well as over 230 new high quality textures. NieR Automata has not received a single patch on the PC but a GOTY Edition is coming out

While NieR: Automata sold quite well on the PC, it’s a game that could benefit from some patches. Surprisingly enough, Square Enix dropped the ball on this one and the game still suffers from mediocre PC controls (unless of course you’re playing with a gamepad but that’s not an excuse).
