An interesting video popped up on YouTube, featuring Stephen Shellen who was the voice behind David Sarif in Deus Ex: Human Revolution. According to the video, Shellen believes the Illuminati are coming for him, and his time is limited before he dies for real. Apparently, the Illuminati are spying on him at present, and he is due to die on July 30th 2012. We’ve seen countless of clever viral marketing tricks and this seems like one. Could Square Enix and EIDOS be gearing up for a new Deus Ex: Human Revolution DLC or a new Deus Ex game? After all, GamesCom is in a few days, meaning that this could very well be a hint for an upcoming announcement. Or is this simply Stephen trolling the gaming community? Square Enix has released a new trailer for Sleeping Dogs. Developed by United Front Games in collaboration with Square Enix London Studios, Sleeping Dogs is a gritty open world cop drama set in the vibrant city of Hong Kong. Taking the role of undercover cop Wei Shen, players are tasked with taking down one of the world’s most fearsome criminal organizations from the inside – the Sun On Yee Triad. Great news for Deus Ex fans, as Square Enix and CBS films have plans for a movie adaptation of Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Although we don’t have enough information about it, we do know that CBS Films has secured film rights to the cyberpunk franchise and that EIDOS will be be working closely with CBS to bring the series to the big screen.
