Nordic Games has just unveiled that it has acquired the IP rights of Darksiders, Red Faction and MX vs ATV from THQ. This is great news as a new Darksiders game seems now possible. The bad news is that Nordic Games is not a triple-A publisher like EA or Ubisoft, thus those franchises may not receive the attention to detail (or the budget) most fans have been hoping for. THQ revealed today their earnings report for the first quarter of fiscal year 2012 and quite shockingly, Red Faction: Armageddon didn’t match the company’s expectations. THQ recorded an additional $8 million loss compared to last year’s – $38.4 million compared to last year’s $30.4 million – and the company is really disappointed in their first quarter financial performance.
