Independent game developer Black Forest Games announces that their twisted platformer, Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams is now available for pre-order on PC through Gog.com and GamersGate. Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams is the grandchild of The Great Giana Sisters, a Super Mario Bros clone that sparked much controversy when it first arrived on shelves in 1987. The development team at Black Forest Games re-birthed the franchise with a completely new concept and story of Giana and her twisted dream-world. Okay, I’m a bit ashamed for not following this Kickstarter campaign, and that’s because Project Giana looks like an amazing platform game. You see, PC platform is not well known for its platform games – though we’ve been getting some indie platformers here and there – and Project Giana is what a Sonic-meets-Mario-with-different-characters-and-elements game would look like. Hell, even the jump sound reminds me of Mario. Not only that, but Project Giana is not a simple, imaginary, mashup of Sonic and Mario.
