Rage 1.2 Patch is now live

At long last, the latest patch for RAGE is now available and comes with that promised upsample with adaptive sharpening filter. Moreover, this patch adds some new features and addresses various compatibility and performance issues. New screenshots from Crysis 2’s Quake map

Mapper ‘Cleric’ has released some new screenshots from his Quake map that is under development for Crysis 2. This is basically a re-imagining of Quake’s first level and uses some of the assets found in iD Software’s classic shooter, like the ammo crates and the button switches. Doom III: Torn Mod Released

Modder Slav released today his single-player mod for iD Software’s little gem, Doom 3. ‘Torn’ is a single-player dark-fantasy modification for Doom 3. Its gameplay consists mainly of first-person puzzle solving with some action and platforming mixed in. AMD’s Catalyst Creator hints to RAGE’s upcoming patch; Catalyst 12.1a preview released

Better late than never I guess. AMD’s Catalyst Creator hinted today to RAGE’s upcoming patch that will most probably be released alongside the game’s level editor at the end of this month. This new patch will include a texture sharpening option that was promised by John Carmack some months ago. Well, to be more precise, we assume that this feature will be included but since this is iD Software and Bethesda we are talking about. RAGE – News about the PC Level Editor coming this month

Ah, RAGE. A game with so potential that was never meant to be released in its current state on the PC. You’d think that iD Software would try their best to redeem themselves and fix it in due time, right? Well, apparently iD Software has other plans. Either that or they are waiting for the ‘right moment’ to release the next patch (that will include a sharpening option for the game’s textures) and its level editor to the PC. RAGE – PC Level Editor and Patch Still Coming

Remember when John Carmack tweeted that a new patch for RAGE PC would be made available? Well, it’s been two months and we haven’t seen it yet. Celebration Time; Doom Is Eighteen Years Old Today

Eighteen years ago, a first person shooter came to change the way we perceive video games today. A small gaming studio in Texas, a bunch of gamers with a passion and a vision released a shareware version of their latest game that became a hit in due time. The legendary Doom, the daddy of all FPS and successor to our beloved Wolfenstein, got released. Eighteen years since its first appearance and this bad boy is still one of our favourite FPS as it reminds us of what FPS games were back in the days. The ‘Thief Mod’ for Doom 3 has just been updated; The Dark Mod v1.7 is now available

Great news for all those Thief fans out there as the team behind the astounding ‘Thief Mod’ for Doom 3 has just rolled out a new, massive update for it. The Dark Mod version 1.7 is now available and can be either downloaded from the tdm_update.exe file, or by visiting its ModDB Page. This new update comes with lots of features, such as: international language localization support for missions, translated HUD, GUI and Menus, vine Arrows, and new combat animations and sounds. Doom 3 GPL Source Code Released

At long last, the source code of Doom 3 has finally been released. The source is available for download from various sources and does not contain – obviously – any game data as the game data is still covered by the original EULA and must be obeyed as usual.
