Today we bring you new shots from 3D artists and CryEngine 3 modders Glode, scotthomer, Rens, chicken, QuadReaktor, ReVan1199, EliteGhost and i59. The highlight of this week is undoubtedly scotthomer’s finished Bioshock environment, as well as Rens’ finished environment based on Bungie’s Halo. These two guys will be featured in the next issue of the online Vertex magazine, so make sure to keep an eye on it. Both scotthomer and Rens proved that CryEngine 3 has a lot of potential, so here is hoping that developers will start taking advantage of it. Enjoy! YouTube’s member ‘devinsupertramp’ and his friends made an amazing live-action video that supposedly showcases an early verion of Halo 5 for X720. The costumes are a beauty to behold and we seriously think that these guys should use them to make a proper Halo movie. On the other hand, the commentary in this video sucks. It really, really, REALLY does. In fact, we’d advise you to watch the video in mute mode due to the awful commentator. Enjoy! Continue reading Halo 5 In Real Life – Fan-Made Live-Action Video→

Freddie Wong and his team have created an amazing video that puts old school characters (pixels, from the Atari era) with some new school characters, such as Lara Croft, Drake, Ezio and Masterchief. Naturally, this is a top quality video and feels like a tribute to old school gaming. It also reminded us of the mind-blowing ‘Pixels Attack New York’ video, therefore we decided to also include that video for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy! Venerance might be one of the most promising mods for Crysis 2. Venerance: Sigma Octanus IV is a game modification that takes place in the extended Halo universe fiction, mainly using the development tools provided by CryTek via their CryEngine 3 Software Developers Kit. The story that will be experienced in the mod can be found in Eric Nylund’s “The Fall of Reach” starting with the first page of Chapter 19 and ending with the last page of Chapter Twenty-Two. This video is clearly not what you might be thinking after reading the title. YouTube’s member ‘freakinrad’ created an entertaining video in which Predator and Masterchief decide to find out who is the best in a series of unusual challenges. It looks fun – and those cosplay costumes are gorgeous – so go ahead and take a look. Oh, and did we say that Batman makes a cameo appearance at the end? We’ve seen Lara in a lot of violin covers for various games and she recently did a violin cover for Skyrim’s theme. It was cool, no doubt about that. But her new violin cover for Halo’s theme is simply fantastic. According to Lara, this has been quite a popular request lately and the backing is from Halo 2 (the original tune is one of the best games tunes ever and is from Martin O’Donnell & Michael Salvatori). Now there weren’t any sheets as she played it by ear, so kudos to her. Enjoy the video after the jump. Continue reading Amazing violin cover of the Halo theme by Lara→
Now here is something that passed under the radar of everyone. Earlier this week, Alex Kobbs released his amazing mashup of Halo and LEGOs, called Battle of the Brick. This film is the accomplishment of over 6 years of production and hundreds of dollars worth of bricks and sets the record for the longest and most elaborate brick-film ever made based on Halo. Yeah, it’s 27 minutes but that’s exactly how we wanted. It’s 27 minutes of pure awesomeness so be sure to check it out!
