Half Life 1 v2

Machinima has shared a new fan short film, based on Valve’s classic FPS title. As its description reads, this is intended to celebrate the game franchise and is in no way affiliated with Half-Life and Valve official works. The film focuses on the game’s iconic weapon, the crowbar. When an experiment goes wrong, it unleashes a catastrophic event on the Black Mesa Research Facility, and blah blah blah. It’s Half Life, you already know what happens, so go ahead and enjoy the film! Continue reading Half-Life: Raise the Bar Is A Great Fan-Made Fan Film Based On Valve’s Classic FPS

Earth Special Forces – New DBZ Mod for Half-Life Trailer Looks Epic, Puts To Shame Commercial Games

DBZ Trunks
In December, we shared with you a teaser trailer for Earth Special Forces, a DBZ mod for Half Life that has been under development for quite sometime. As promised, the team behind it has released a full length video that literally puts to shame most commercial DBZ games. The impressive thing here is also the fact that we’re talking about a mod for a relatively old game, yet still looks gorgeous. Half-Life Alpha Version 0.52 – Tech Demo Gameplay

Half Life 1
YouTube’s member ‘MarphitimusBlackimus‘ has uploaded a gameplay video from the tech demo levels of Half-Life Alpha v 0.52 dated September 4, 1997, over one year prior to the finished game’s release. And you know what? I seriously love this kind of videos that show how games looked like before their time of release. The reason I love these videos is because we get to see an – almost – completely different game. Duke Nukem Forever, Resident Evil 2 and 4, Alan Wake and ICO are some great examples of that logic/theory. Enjoy! Continue reading Half-Life Alpha Version 0.52 – Tech Demo Gameplay

‘Find The Source’ Is Perhaps The Best Black Mesa/Half Life Tribute You’ll Ever See

Now this is how you create mind-blowing tributes (or trailers). Pedro Calvo has created an amazing video tribute to Black Mesa, with Joel Nielsen’s music and Victoria Teunissen on vocal duties (Connor Pelkey has also halped in creating this video with his Voice Engineering skills). And quite frankly, this is the most beautiful tribute we’ve ever seen. It’s emotional, Victoria’s voice is great, Joel’s music is outstanding, and the whole video feels so warm and calm. Now this is how trailers should be made. Forget those dubstep crap. This is art. Let us also remind you that Black Mesa Source is currently planned for a September 14th release. Enjoy!
