CraftedMovie has uploaded an interesting Minecraft machinima, in which we get to see what a Lion King game or film would look like with Minecraft’s assets, characters and graphics. It looks pretty amazing and took the team a lot of time to achieve that. On the other hand, Far Cry 3 mapper ‘Krazee DD’ has released a mini Lost map for Ubisoft’s sandbox title. Unfortunately, this map is for the X360 version of Far Cry 3, but you can view a flythrough video below. Enjoy! Continue reading Lost Map recreated in Far Cry 3, Lion King recreated in Minecraft→
Now this is how you develop a PC version of a multi-platform title. Far Cry 3 PC is the definition of what developers can achieve when they’re taking advantage of the PC. Not only does the game look fabulous, it also scales incredibly on four CPU cores, and showcases the huge difference between a game that is optimized for dual-cores and one that is optimized for quad-cores. It’s ironic – given the fact that this is a Ubisoft title – but Far Cry 3 is the most optimized PC game of 2012 and you can read below the reasons why we consider it this good. Cameron Manwaring has informed us about a new live-action short film for Far Cry 3, that was made by Devin Graham, Leanna Pareja, Jacob Schwarz, and Clint Jones. It’s a great video, though the first-person perspective cannot come close to the one made by FreddieW. Obviously, the team still needs time to refine its skills, however this attempt in capturing Far Cry 3’s atmosphere is definitely cool. Kudos to them, and you can view the video below. Enjoy! Ubisoft has been demonstrating Far Cry 3’s level editor in Malmo Sweden, and Ubisoft’s forum member ‘FallenChamp’ has unveiled some interesting details about it. Good news is that the level editor will also come on consoles, as FallenChamp had the chance to test the X360 version of it. Unfortunately though, we do not know if Ubisoft will offer cross-platform capabilities to it, meaning that your PC level will only be playable on the PC version of the game. Far Cry 3’s embargo has been lifted and as we don’t have any performance analysis to share (for now), we bring you today a 16 minutes footage from the PC version, with Ultra settings, courtesy of WhySoSirius. The commentary is in German, but who really cares, right? As we can see, Far Cry 3 looks great and there is no noticeable pop-up when using Ultra settings. Question now is how the game performs (as there is no framerate indication and we don’t know the specs that were used) and whether this title takes advantage of multiple CPU cores. Enjoy! Continue reading Far Cry 3 PC Looks Gorgeous – 16 Minutes Of Footage With Ultra Settings→

Ubisoft has released the second episode of its Far Cry Experience live-action webseries, in which Christopher-Mintz-Plasse realizes how much trouble he will have to face as Vaas enters the scene.
