Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition – Update 2.5 adds new features and brings numerous fixes

Beamdog has released a brand new update for the Enhanced Edition of Baldur’s Gate. According to the release notes, patch 2.5 allows players to use the Priest of Tempus kit, allows players to skip all major cutscenes, replaces old sword and shield logo and makes it possible to accept Thalantyr’s quest to help Melicamp if you initially decline. Beamdog has just confirmed that it’s currently working on a new Baldur’s Gate game. Kotaku has spotted an amazing mod for Neverwinter Nights 2. Created by modder Drew Rechner, Baldurs Gate: Reloaded recreates the world of Bioware’s classic WRPG in 3D thanks to Neverwinter Nights 2’s engine. Overhaul Games has released the first update for the enhanced edition of Baldur’s Gate. According to its changelog, this patch will update the game’s version to v1.0.2011 and adds a new movie for resting in dungeon and inn, brings various tweaks to the game’s UI screens, fixes a number of crashes and fixes various bugs. Developer Overhaul Games announced that Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition has been released, and it is now live on Beamdog. In addition, Ubisoft announced that Far Cry 3 is now available for all platforms (PS3, X360 and PC) in Europe, and is planned for a December 4th release in North America. Great news everyone as Beamdog has released the first gameplay trailer of Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition. Running on an upgraded and improved version of the Infinity Engine, Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition includes the entire Baldur’s Gate adventure, the Tales of the Sword Coast expansion pack, and never-before-seen content including a new adventure and three new party members: the Calishite monk Rasaad yn Bashir, Neera the wild mage, and Dorn Il-Khan, the evil blackguard. Trent Oster has revealed some juicy details about the rumored third part of the Baldur’s Gate series. According to Oster, Baldur’s Gate will be powered by new technology and not by the engine that is behind Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition and Baldur’s Gate 2: Enhanced Edition. Although nothing is confirmed at this point, and Overhaul’s current plans have nothing to do with the Black Hound concept. Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition will support cross-platform, pre-loading starts in late August

Trent Oster has revealed some new, interesting information about the Enhanced Edition of Baldur’s Gate. Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition will support co-op multiplayer and will work across all platforms. This basically means that iPad can play with Android, Mac and PC. Moreover, Overhaul Games is still working on implementing the ability to use the game’s saves to multiple platforms.
