Modder ‘DooMero’ has informed us about a new gameplay video for his upcoming Donkey Kong Country mod for Doom. As the title suggests, this mod recreates Rare’s classic SNES platform title in Doom. Thankfully, DooMero is stay true to the game’s roots, meaning that you won’t be experiencing the world of DKC in first-person mode. It looks cool, though there are some bugs here and there. Donkey Kong Country ported to GZDooM; new video released, demo plans revealed

Our reader ‘Cristian Fabian Muñoz Isla’ has informed us about a new video of his Donkey Kong Country mod for Doom (that will be compatible with GZDooM). Cristian plans to release a demo that will feature 9 levels (the equal of episode 1 of doom), and one of them will be a secret map. The following video shows the levels e1m2 (lava), e1m3(forest) and e1m4 (pirate ship). No ETA has been given, but we’ll be sure to keep you up to date with its progress. Enjoy! Our reader ‘Cristian Fabian Muñoz Isla’ about a brilliant idea. Modder ‘Doomero’ is creating a pseudo engine for GZDoom that will help you create 2D platform games. In its current form, this engine will be ideal for Donkey Kong Country levels, as Cristian will add all of Donkey Kong Country’s characters, enemies, items, textures, acs, and decoration details.
