Risen 2: Dark Waters PC Performance Analysis

There is no denying that there is something special about Piranha Bytes. Although their games are bugged to death, at their time of release, they are really addictive. They are not ground-breaking but – at the same time – they are unique and something that is worth your time and effort. And although Risen 2 is dumbed down (compared to the first Risen or the Gothic series) and consolized (especially the inventory system), it’s a pretty good and enjoyable game. New Risen 2 PC Patch comes with fixes for both SLI and 7.1 sound systems, adds a dodge move

Great news for fans of Risen 2: Dark Waters as Deep Silver and Piranha Bytes have revealed the changelog of the game’s first PC patch. According to the publisher, this patch fixes major issues like the SLI stuttering effect, the flickering of trees that was present in Nvidia hardware and the crashes to desktop due to the 7.1 sound system. Moreover, this update will add a new ‘dodge’ move in your fights and players will be able now to block attacks from monsters. The Dark Eye – Chains of Satinav gets a new Official Trailer

Daedalic Entertainment and Deep Silver present the new official trailer for the upcoming adventure-highlight, The Dark Eye: Chains of Satinav. The official trailer offers atmospheric insight into the background of The Dark Eye: Chains of Satinav and the fantastic world of Aventuria. The scenes show the story of the young trapper Geron, whom a dark fate had been predicted. He and his mysterious companion Nuri investigate a deadly plague of crows and have to search for the source of this evil. Risen 2: Dark Waters – DLCs can be unlocked via the in-game console

Man, that’s just sad. Risen was a great PC title that was not plagued with all issues that were present in previous Piranha Bytes’ games. SLI was working fine, there were not major pop-ups, performance was good… generally speaking, it was a polished game – for Piranha Bytes’ standards. Fast forward a couple of years and here we are with a really broken game called Risen 2: Dark Waters. Now I don’t want to be harsh, but I’m pretty sure that the multiplatform development had a major impact to the PC version. I tell you guys, it’s a really broken game. And what’s even more disappointing is the fact that the day-one DLC that was released for Risen 2 can be easily unlocked via the in-game console. Iron Front – Liberation 1944 gets a new set of screenshots

Deep Silver and X1 Software/AWAR today revealed some new screenshots for Iron Front – Liberation 1944. In the upcoming tactical shooter, several realistic weapons, aircrafts and vehicles are placed at the disposal of the Russian soldiers. Part of the asset collection is, for example, the Iosif Stalin 2 tank, an improved version of the Iosif Stalin. It was equipped with thick armor and a long 122 mm gun that was capable of defeating the German Tiger and Panther tanks. Iron Front – Liberation 1944 – Infantry Trailer

Deep Silver and X1 Software/AWAR today released a new trailer for the upcoming tactical shooter “Iron Front – Liberation 1944”. In Poland in the summer of 1944, soldiers march through fields, pass villages and hide in woods. The Red Army and the Wehrmacht prepare for the battles of the Soviet Offensive, which played a crucial part in Germany’s defeat in the Second World War. The video shows how the infantry of both sides prepare for their convergence. The game features not only a realistic and extensive campaign based on the historical events of the Soviet Offensive in 1944, but also authentic replications of weaponry and warplanes. “Iron Front – Liberation 1944” will be available exclusively for the PC from May 25, 2012. Risen 2: Dark Waters PC gets “Treasure Isle” and “A Pirate’s Clothes” DLCs

Hooray, it’s time for day-one DLCs. And you thought that Street Fighter x Tekken or Mass Effect 3 were bad enough, right? Guess again. Deep Silver today announced that two DLCs for the pirate RPG “Risen 2: Dark Waters” are available for purchase on PC. Naturally, PC gamers can buy them because Piranha Bytes and Deep Silver couldn’t include them in the game. How lovely. Risen 2: Dark Waters – Launch Trailer

Deep Silver released today the launch trailer of Risen 2: Dark Waters. In Risen 2: Dark Waters, the Inquisition dispatches the hero to seek a remedy against the monstrous sea creatures that are interfering with the shipping lines, thus cutting off the islands’ supplies. The pirates seem to know how to deal with these critters… but they are hardly cooperative. The game is slated for release tomorrow on the PC and on August 3rd for consoles. Enjoy! Iron Front – Liberation 1944: Details about its Multiplayer Mode and Editor

Deep Silver and X1 Software/AWAR today revealed new details on the multiplayer mode and the editor of the upcoming tactical shooter “Iron Front – Liberation 1944”. The editor lets players create new battles and missions while the multiplayer mode offers various game modes such as “free for all” and cooperative matches. “Iron Front – Liberation 1944” will be available exclusively for the PC from May 25, 2012.
