Incoming new version of MaLDoHD Mod for Crysis 2; new comparison shots released

It’s been a while, right? Well, MaLDo is back and is preparing a new version for his mind-blowing Crysis 2 Texture Pack. MaLDo is currently working on a lot of little issues that plague Crytek’s FPS. The modder will add POM to some surfaces, will fix clipping issues, will fix some floating shadows and decals, and will add shadows to some specific places. Moreover, MaLDo will include new texture for fallen leaves geometry, for parking poster in Alien Vessel, for trash in Bryant Park, for marble and for a stone wall. In addition, MaLDo has released some old and new comparison shots that can be viewed below (on the left we have the vanilla and on the right the modded). Make sure to also pay a visit to MaLDo’s blog. Continue reading Incoming new version of MaLDoHD Mod for Crysis 2; new comparison shots released

CryENGINE 3 GDC 2012 – Proper Tech Trailer

Crytek has released a proper version of their tech trailer that was showcased in this year’s GDC. This trailer showcases the new features that the engine supports. Now I’ll have to be honest here. Although it does look good, it isn’t the Crytek trailers that have been pushing the graphical boundaries. In other words, we’ve seen better but then again, we’ve seen and worse too. Enjoy! Unreal comes to CryEngine 3 with this custom map

Back in the Quake 2 days, Unreal was bashed to death. I tell you guys, there were lots of PC gamers that hated it (my guess is that they bashed it because their PC systems could not run it). Ironically, these days it is considered one of the best FPS titles and we are glad to see most of those naysayers admitting that it was way ahead of its time. Man, I still remember the first encounter with the Scaarj. Or when you got out of the spaceship and admired that beautiful, huge level with the waterfall. Those were some pretty impressive visuals. It seems that Crysis 2’s modders are really addicted to the jungle environments, as we got this week lots of shots from some jungle maps that are currently on development. However, there is one shot from Neolight that is simply beyond anything we’ve seen so far. Neolight has created a cinematic wide shot of some fantastical world that looks bloody amazing. Alongside that shot, we bring you today some images from modders rGOt, neo83_gr, iSqueezee, darkchazz, ReVan1199, as well as a machinima video from ShadosProd. Enjoy!
