During their SIGGRAPH 2013 talk, CD Projekt RED’s Balazs Torok and Krzysztof Krzyscin unveiled some new interesting information about RED Engine; the engine powering The Witcher 2 and CDPR’s upcoming RPG, The Witcher 3. According to the developers, this engine was originally meant to be used in The Witcher 3 as the game was planned ahead already, however CDPR decided to take advantage of it with The Witcher 2. And it’s that time of the week again. Although CD Projekt RED has not revealed any new information about The Witcher 3, the Polish company has released a new concept art for it that can be viewed below. What’s really surprising here is that the game’s visuals come really close to that piece of concept art, so kudos to CDPR’s artists (at least the overall atmosphere is similar). And the time has finally come. CD Projekt RED’s Andrzej ‘Flash’ Kwiatkowski has released a new version of his Full Combat Rebalance 2 Mod for The Witcher 2. This new version allows Geralt to parry attacks from behind while he’s standing still. In addition, the mod fixes lots of issues, rebalances various aspect of the combat mechanics and features some visual tweaks. NeoGAF’s member ‘EatChildren’ has released a pretty interesting – yet demanding – mod for The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings. According to its creator, this mod dramatically increases grass rendering distance, renders distant tree moss, presents full detail bushes/shrubs over entire fields, maximizes the quality of trees at any distance, and completely eliminates grass pop-in. CD Projekt RED has released the main theme for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The theme was composed by Adam Skorupa and Krzysztof Wierzynkiewicz and you can download it from the links after the jump. The Witcher 2 – Full Combat Rebalance 2 Mod – Changelog Revealed For Incoming Update

CD Projekt RED’s Andrzej Kwiatkowski is currently working on an update for his full combat rebalance mod for The Witcher 2. According to the modder and developer of The Witcher 3, this new update will allow Geralt to parry attacks from behind while he’s standing still. In addition, the update will address a lot of the bugs/issues that plagued the original version of his mod. Kwiatkowski plans to release this update for his mod sometime this week, and you can view its changelog below. The Witcher 3 Will Be Supported For Years To Come, DLCs Will Be Free On The PC

Ah, CD Projekt RED. Such an ‘old-school’ company. Well, you gotta admit that the Polish studio has struggled to build a healthy fan base these past years; a fan base that got worried when the team revealed its multi-platform plans for The Witcher 3. Well, good news everyone as CDPR will continue supporting its new ‘baby’ for years to come, and will release small DLCs – at least on the PC – for free.
