BF3 Config Utility v1.4 – Config Your Graphics Settings Without Entering The Game

I’ve said it before and I’ll keep saying it: I love modders. TechPowerUp’s user ‘Mindweaver‘ released a handy utility that lets you edit and config Battlefield 3’s graphical settings without entering the game. Now this is a crucial little program and one I was looking forward to. Why should I enter the game in order to change my settings? Especially when I want to play some multiplayer matches and want to tweak some options. God bless Mindweaver. Weekly Top 10 PC Charts; UK PC Retail and Steam Digital Charts [October 23rd – 29th]; BF3 tops everything

Call us unimpressed with Battlefield 3’s success. Although its single player is a COD ‘clopycat’, its multiplayer is really addictive and that’s its biggest feature. Battles are intense and quite frankly, there is nothing out there that comes close to Battlefield 3 oh, and I suck as a pilot… jets are not for me after all. Regarding the retail sales, we can also see that Stronghold 3 has managed to gain a place, whereas iD Software’s RAGE has lost three places and can be spotted at the end of the chart. Editorial – Scripted events are killing the gaming experience

Oh boy, here we go again with the scripted events. I’m pretty sure you’ve heard it before that those dreadful scripted events, which are included in most modern-day titles, are killing the whole gaming experience. There is a lot of argue about it, and to be honest, both sides are right. On one hand, scripted events give a cinematic feel, a more intense – albeit ‘fake’ – experience that could not be achieved with any other way. On the other hand, however, these same scripted events are hurting the dynamic nature of the games. Games are transforming into movies, meaning that the players are simply attending instead of actually playing them. Continue reading Editorial – Scripted events are killing the gaming experience

Battlefield 3 PC Performance Analysis

Battlefield 3 is finally released, and it’s time to see how this highly anticipated FPS game performs with a modern-day PC. Contrary to other performance analyses, this – as pretty much every other in DSOGaming – is addressed to the average Joe, who does not have the latest and fastest GPU/CPU. So, is our GTX295 outdated and is it time to replace or is it Battlefield 3 enjoyable in Ultra settings with a GTX295 and a Q9650 at 4.2Ghz? Well, time to find out. Battlefield 3 meets Minecraft in this mind-blowing crossover

I’m seriously amazed by what Minecraft’s community can recreate/reproduce these days. Yesterday, we posted MineWars, a mashup between Minecraft and Star Wars – in case you haven’t seen it yet, please do so. It’s really amazing – and here comes today a cross-over between Battlefield 3 and Minecraft. So, we’ll call it MineField and let me tell you that I’d actually pay to play such mods guys. And I bet that I’m not the only one willing to. Developers, take notes; this is one of the reasons we love mods and why PC games should feature them. Battlefield 3 – Nvidia owners be warned; Corrupted shadows and stuttering are introduced with Nvidia’s 285.62 Drivers

Battlefield 3 is the big star of these days and as we reported earlier today, Nvidia released some new drivers that are specifically optimized for it. Battlefield 3 – NO restrictions or bans on using a VPN to unlock the game earlier

What’s more interesting though is that there won’t be any restrictions or penalties if you decide to use this method of unlocking your game. Yeap, that is coming directly from the EA Support Team – no, don’t laugh as we don’t think that this is a misinformation.
