Baldur’s Gate website slightly updated, Atari has given the green light to this new project

A new Baldur’s Gate website went live a couple of weeks ago, suggesting that a new Baldur’s Gate game would be coming. Although there is nothing certain at this point, the website’s source code was updated a couple of days ago with some new quotes. Questions abound and no answers can be found as of yet. Are those new quotes addressed to the game’s fans or BioWare for abandoning the Baldur’s Gate franchise? Did BioWare want to ‘kill’ the franchise? John Romero is working on a new FPS game; will it make us his bitch?

There is no denying that John Romero was talented back in the days. There is also no doubt that Daikatana flopped and couldn’t live up to its hype. Oh, and it didn’t make us his bitch after all. But fear not Doom and old-scool fans, as John Romero is about to return. iD Software’s former employee has tweeted that he’s currently working on an old-school FPS title. Before jumping to early conclusions, the answer is no; this upcoming FPS title is not Daikatana 2. Continue reading John Romero is working on a new FPS game; will it make us his bitch?

New Humble Indie Pack spotted in Steam’s registry

A new Humble Indie Pack has appeared on Steam’s registry, suggesting that a new pack is already on its way. The interesting part here is that Steam’s registry has not listed any games for it as of yet. Did Valve intentionally hide the list as there were a lot of leaks due to Steam’s registry? Perhaps. In the past, it took Humble Indie Pack a few weeks to get released after being spotted in Steam’s registry, so we can expect to see this new indie pack in the following weeks. Weekly Top 10 PC Charts; UK PC Retail and Steam Digital Charts [March 4th – 10th]

And it has finally been topped. SEGA’s amazing soccer management is no longer at the first place of the UK PC Charts, as BioWare’s RPG has managed to claim the first place in its first week of release. Not only that, but The Sims 3: Showtime – that was released alongside Mass Effect 3 – can be spotted at the second place, while Football Manager 2012 is now at the third place. And it seems that Assassin’s Creed III  has boosted the sales of Revelations, as it managed to re-enter the UK PC Charts and is now at the tenth place. Apart from these changes though, there is nothing worth writing about. All games lost one-three places and sadly, Alan Wake is nowhere to be found. SecuROM DRM is integrated into EA’s Origin service, traces of SecureROM in Mass Effect 3

A couple of weeks ago, Mass Effect 3’s executive producer, Casey Hudson, said that the Origin version of Mass Effect 3 would not be using an intrusive DRM scheme. According to Hudson, the game would require a one time, single authorization, and installs would not be limited. However, it appears that EA’s Origin service uses a version of SecureROM, a DRM system that is hated by a lot of PC gamers. In fact, a lot of gamers are boycotting all games that come with any form of SecureROM, and according to Reclaim Your Game, Mass Effect 3 on Origin uses a new form of SecureROM as its DRM. Outerra gets a new, lovely video

YouTube’s member ‘FSFLIGHTproductions’ has created a new, lovely video for the impressive Outerra tech demo. According to the user, the shots where hard to get with this movie as there is just a free cam, and no playback feature so it was all done live. And damn does Outerra look sexy. Especially the lighting and the overall feeling is a beauty to behold. Outerra is still in pre-alpha stage but already looks amazing. We urge everyone to download the tech demo and give it a shot. Enjoy! Continue reading Outerra gets a new, lovely video

Slightly Mad Studios teases a new circuit for Project CARS

Okay everyone, take a good look at the first screenshot because this is an in-game shot from an upcoming circuit of Project CARS. Seriously now, look at the ocean and the sky.
