Do you remember that awful meme that the human eye could not see more than 24fps? Well, by now we all know that it was inaccurate and laugh when someone mentions something like that. And it seems that John Carmack got tired of that meme. That theory was based on the the fact that movies were played in 24Hz and looked quite smooth. Modder MaLDo has released some new screenshots for the upcoming version of his amazing Crysis 2 Texture Pack. MaLDo has added some new stone walls, fixed some issues in the Terminal level, and added new textures for the burned trees and marble floor in Terminal level. Good news for all those who boycotted Ubisoft’s games due to their DRM implementations as GOG has added Ubisoft’s title to its catalogue and, like all GOG-games, this edition of Far Cry 2 is DRM-free. Entitled as Far Cry 2: Fortune’s Edition, this special version is patched to the most recent version and includes the Fortunes Pack DLC that added three new weapons and two new vehicles to the game, as well as several new multiplayer maps. Good news for all gamers, as CD Projekt RED is gearing up for a major announcement. The developer of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition will host a conference on the 30th of May at 5 p.m. GMT. The studio will make a major announcment on that day and also reveal a lot of other information concerning its products and the DRM-free distribution platform GOG.com. Thief Gold and Thief 2 have been added recently on Steam. As you may have guessed, these titles look quite dated but thankfully, there are some Texture Packs for them and our member ‘RipNard’ has informed us about them. According to RipNard, Steam uses the DDFIX mod for both Thief 1 and 2, but it seems it has an older version. Those interested can download the latest version from here. 2K Games has just announced that the PC demo of Spec Ops: The Line will be released in June 12th. As promised, the demo comes to our beloved platform before the official release of its retail/digital final version that is currently slated for June 29th. Not only that, but the company has also unveiled the minimum and recommended PC requirements for it that can be viewed below.
