Modder Doomero has informed us about a new version of his Mortal Kombat mod for id Software’s classic FPS, Doom. As the title suggests, this mod brings Mortal Kombat Trilogy to Doom, meaning that players can play against each other via the Internet. Abbey Games has informed us about a new gameplay video of its upcoming God game, Reus. This video shows how terraforming and plant creation contribute to building an ecosystem. Ecosystems are among the main gameplay elements in Reus and players spend a lot of time using all sorts of natural sources to create the ecosystems they want on their planet. Gameforge announced today that over half a million new users have registered for the game since the move to free-to-play, which brings the total number of players registered for TERA: Rising up to over one million. The company has also opened six new game servers just a few days after the free-to-play launch in order to meet the high demand, so this move to the F2P model seems to really pay off. Road Rash is a series that has been put on ice for quite sometime. Ironically, a lot of gamers want to see a modern version of it and surprisingly enough, we may be very close to a Kickstarter campaign of a new Road Rash game. Kotaku is at it again. After unveiling the first screenshots of Star Wars: First Assault, the big K is back with the first leaked footage from this multiplayer downloadable game. As we can clearly see, this clip features battles between stormtroopers and rebels across various Star War stages. This footage seems to be from an early build of the game, and we are uncertain right now about the fate of this new Star Wars game. Chances are that it may have already been cancelled. Arkane Studios & Bethesda have unveiled – via the game’s official FB page – that a new DLC for Dishonored will be hitting streets on April 16th. This new DLC will be called The Knife of Dunwall, will cost $9.99 (800 Microsoft Points) and will allow players to take on the role of Daud, the mysterious assassin who killed the Empress at the beginning of Dishonored. And the SimCity fiasco keeps going on and on. A couple of days ago, Maxis’ studio head, Lucy Bradshaw, said that an offline mode for SimCity was not possible at the moment and that it would take a significant amount of engineering work from our team to rewrite the game for single player. That was a bunch of crap, and that’s why we did not inform you about this. And it seems we were right, as a Maxis insider told RPS that SimCity can run in offline mode and that a patch wouldn’t take very much engineering. Bohemia must feel really great with ArmA 3’s success. Despite the fact that the game is still in alpha stage, ArmA 3’s users are already more than those of all previous ArmA games combined. This further shows that there is a market for hardcore sim titles. That, or most of those guys purchased this new ArmA game in order to be ready for a possible DayZ mod. Either way, we are sure that Bohemia enjoys ArmA 3’s early success, so it will be interesting to see whether the final game will meet commercial success or not.
