City State Entertainment announced that its crowdfunding campaign for Camelot Unchained (working title) has reached its target of $2 million. The TriRealm RvR-focused MMORPG will now receive $3 million in additional funding, including $2 million from studio co-founder and online game industry pioneer Mark Jacobs. The process of ramping up to full development is already under way. Pledges are still being accepted via Kickstarter until May 2 at 11.56 am EDT, and through PayPal until further notice. Our dear friends over at PCGames.de interviewed Tango Gameworks’ Shinji Mikami, and revealed some new information about this upcoming horror title. According to Mikami, the game’s main character, detective Sebastian Castellanos, will will have a strong personality; strong enough to deal with everything that is going on around him. Mikami stated that he’s not a fan of characters that scream, runaway and lose their minds, and that’s precisely why Sebastian will be so strong. Kalypso Media has released some new screenshots for its upcoming stealth action RPG, DARK. DARK promises to immerse players in a cyberpunk-inspired world of vampires and their dark machinations. Square Enix has released a new set of screenshots for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. In addition, the company revealed that the game is scheduled to enter the third phase of closed beta testing in June. Beta phase three will introduce PS3 users to it for the very first time, where they will be able to experience the world of Eorzea alongside PC players due to the game’s cross-platform functionality. I’m pretty sure that by now, most of you are already aware about the lawsuit against SEGA and Gearbox for the early gameplay trailers and footages of Aliens: Colonial Marines. According to the lawsuit and as described by Polygon, SEGA and Gearbox ‘falsely advertised Aliens by showing demos at trade shows like PAX and E3 which didn’t end up being accurate representations of the final product‘ and that ‘by sending out review code to the press under an embargo that lifted in the early morning of Aliens: Colonial Marines’ launch date of Feb. 12, the game’s pre-orderers and early adopters would have no knowledge of the discrepancies between the demo and final game‘.
