Crytek has revealed – via the game’s official FB page – that it will announce something for Crysis 3 this Wednesday. Our guess is that the company will kick off the game’s open beta phase. Let’s not forget that Crysis 3 is planned for a February release, meaning that this open beta will act as a demo and – as you may have guessed – won’t be as useful as it was back in Crysis 1. Still, we kind of hope that Crytek will offer gamers the ability to play the new Hunted mode of it. Square Enix and Nixxes Software have released a new PC update for Hitman: Absolution. According to its changelog, this patch offers performance enhancements on various hardware configurations. We’ve already seen that Absolution had some optimization issues, therefore it will be interesting to see whether Nixxes has addressed them or not. Mojang & Oxeye have released a new trailer for their upcoming 2D platformer, Cobalt, that showcases the latest alpha build, as well as the game’s editor. Cobalt currently features several game modes ranging from single player challenges to local multiplayer as well as editors for creating your own maps. Now this is really interesting. Reddit’s user ‘okitobi2’ shared an image of what supposedly a CryEngine 3 version of Minecraft could look like. Unfortunately for everyone, this picture does not seem like a mod or standalone project created with CryEngine 3’s SDK, but rather a real image that suggests how close a CryEngine 3-powered Minecraft game could look like. In other words, don’t expect it to look this good. And even though this might put off some people, another Redditor has shared a video from a game with a procedural world, powered by Crytek’s engine, that looks sweet as hell.
