NVIDIA fans, here is something for you today. The green team has just released its CES 2025 Unreal Engine 5 Tech Demo, Zorah, which was used to showcase the capabilities of the RTX50 series GPUs.
The Zorah Tech Demo is, I kid you not, 108GB in size. Yep, that’s a huge tech demo so make sure to have enough free disk space.
This demo uses RTX neural rendering that highlights the latest innovations in geometry, lighting and character rendering technologies. The demo is built in the NVIDIA RTX Branch of Unreal Engine 5 (NvRTX).
As NVIDIA has noted, Zorah has been updated with stunning new scenes that push the boundaries of RTX real-time path tracing. It also supports RTX Mega Geometry, RTX Hair, ReSTIR PT, and ReSTIR DI.
In short, this is one of the best-looking tech demos out there. It’s also one that can push your GPU to its limits. Plus, it may give us a look at what next-gen games may look like.
You can go ahead and download the tech demo from this link. Right now, I’m still downloading it. Thus, I can’t comment on its performance. I do plan to update the story with a video later today. Until then, you can enjoy its official trailer, which came out last month.
Also note that this is the source project. In other words, you’ll need Unreal Engine 5 installed to run it. This isn’t a packaged standalone project (with an executable) to run. Guess someone will package it and share a standalone version of it.
Speaking of Unreal Engine 5, we recommend trying out these other free fan-made demos. You can grab a Superman UE5 Demo, a Halo 3: ODST Remake, and a Spider-Man UE5 Demo. There’s also a fan-made version of STALKER in Unreal Engine 5. If you love old-school FPS games, you should check out this remake of the classic FPS Blood in Epic’s engine. Don’t also forget the remake of Halo: Combat Evolved’s Halo level in UE5 or this free Attack on Titan game. And then we have the Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake in UE5. Plus, there is an amazing fan remake of Sonic Adventure 2, called Sonic Adventure 2 Redux.
Owners of high-end GPUs can also try these two tech demos. The first one features a Witcher-like environment. The second shows off a Rome Italian Town. Last month, we also shared a demo of King’s Field 2 in UE5. Finally, we have The Lord of the Rings: Conquest Reimagined in Unreal Engine 5, a remake of Flappy Bird, a demo for Need for Speed: Underground 2, and a Diablo 2 Remake Demo. They all look awesome, so be sure to give them a try.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
