Modder ‘bytevoid’ has released a new mod for The Witcher 3 Remastered that aims to make the game’s movement and combat more responsive. This is a mod that a lot of TW3 fans may appreciate. So, let’s take a closer look at it.
Going into more detail, the mod cuts input delay and helps Geralt react sooner to your commands. It also keeps the game’s original animations and balance.
Geralt will now stop sooner when you let go of a key or button. He also turns faster while running. Small changes in direction no longer slow him to a walk. Starting, stopping, and turning around feel faster, too.
These changes blend into the game’s own moves. This helps keep them smooth and natural. The mod does not add new animations. It also does not change damage or stamina.
Sword attacks will now flow into each other more quickly. The mod can also help Geralt hit the foe you aim at. His sword swings and signs can target the foe you picked, rather than miss and hit empty air.
You can also set his attacks to aim at the closest foe. Other options let Geralt turn toward a foe faster before a swing. You can also make attack lunges shorter and cast signs faster.
And that’s not all. Roach will also feel more responsive. The horse slows down sooner when you stop. It also turns faster and picks up speed more quickly. You can even make it gallop as soon as you press the key. You can also get off your horse with one tap. This works with both a keyboard and a gamepad.
It’s also worth noting that the mod has four settings pages: Movement, Horse, Combat and Targeting, and Other. Each page has its own switch. You can also pick a preset or change each option on its own.
Finally, there are five main presets for movement and combat. These are Off, Gentle, Recommended, Precise, and Unleashed.
Those interested can go ahead and download the mod from this link.
A lot of modders are currently bringing their mods to the remastered version. However, if you are still playing the Next-Gen version, you can try some of the following mods.
For instance, there is a really cool first-person mod. The Characters Reworked Project is another interesting mod that improves the quality of over 100 characters. Let’s also not forget this mod that lets you kill most in-game NPCs. Then we have this mod that overhauls the game’s combat with better animations, better targeting, and new dodging mechanics.
In July 2024, we shared mods that restored the boat races and added 15 new quests. A modder has also restored the reputation system that CDPR cut from the game. Plus, there is a cool fan expansion, based on the original book “The Last Wish”. Then, in February 2026, a modder shared a DLC-sized expansion mod that added a new questline for Ciri and a new region to explore. Another DLC-sized fan expansion is Dawn Over Kovir. TW3 fans should also try the demo for The WAR Project. The WAR Project is a massive cut content recreation project aimed at realising the vision for a long-forgotten questline, commonly known as the Plague Questline.
In December 2023, we shared this mod that restores content that was cut from all previous The Witcher games. Then, in February 2024, we shared a mod that attempted to remove the fake “hero” light from the game’s cut-scenes. There is also this mod that allows you to explore a part of the world from the first The Witcher game in TW3. Oh, and don’t forget this mod that allows you to ride a Griffin. Or how about this Sekiro-inspired combat mod?
Another must-have mod is The Witcher 3 Online. With this mod, players can join servers and play together with friends. You can customize your character with Custom Player Characters and relax in taverns using the Chill Out feature. You can also chat with other players, use emotes, and roleplay with strangers. Best of all, you can experience the full story of Geralt and Ciri from beginning to end, all while exploring the world of The Witcher with other players.
The mods that are 100% compatible with The Witcher 3 Remastered are the following ones. Witcher 3 Quests Extended adds 18 new playable quests to the game. Witcher’s Work – Procedurally Generated Contracts adds new procedurally generated contracts to the game. Finally, this mod fixes nearly 6,000 bugs. It includes more than 2,200 bug fixes and over 2,000 placement fixes. It also restores cut content, as well as around 120 NPCs and characters.
Have fun!
