Back in 2021, we informed you about Project Mojave for Fallout 4. This DLC-sized mod attempted to recreate some of the areas from Fallout: New Vegas in Fallout 4. Sadly, though, its modding team has thrown in the towel and canceled it.
Project Mojave was a really ambitious total conversion mod for Fallout 4. This project required a lot of work. And, as with most big TC mods, its modding team was not prepared for the amount of hours – or even months/years – it would take to finish it. This is why we still haven’t seen a playable version of the Fallout 4: New Vegas Mod.
Now the good news here is that a new Early Access version of Project Mojave has been released. This is the final version of this mod.
Version 2.5 of the Project Mojave Revitalization Mod adds new worldspaces, armors, dungeons and OST tracks. So, right now, the mod has a total of 4 new worldspaces, each with new NPCs and assets. These four areas are Fremont, Westside, St. Mary’s Medical and Vegas Industrial.
You can download the mod from this link.
If you are into Fallout 4, you might also want to check out these other mods for it. For instance, there is a LOD mod that reduces distant objects/shadows/textures pop-ins. Then we have the Disk Cache Enabler Mod. There’s also a mod that adds ragdoll physics and collisions to dead bodies. Another amazing mod is this one that fixes the game’s long loading times. DirectHit is a mod that overhauls the AI of enemies. And let’s not forget this mod that adds real locational damage to all enemies. We also have this mod that adds to the game 10 driveable cars/vehicles with Havok physics, as well as this Enhanced Movement Mod.
To improve the graphics or performance, you can use the following mods. For instance, there are various HD texture packs. You can either download this 8K Texture Pack or this 41GB 4K Texture Pack which optimizes all 40,962 textures. There’s also a mod that improves the faces of over 1450 NPCs. Finally, there is a mod that adds support for NVIDIA DLSS 2, AMD FSR 2 and Intel XeSS. Oh, and there’s a mod that adds AMD FSR 3.0 Frame Generation to the game.
Let’s also not forget the DLC-sized expansion mods that you can get for F4. Fallout New Vegas Remake in Fallout 4 is an unreleased mod that we’re really looking forward to. Then we have Fallout: Miami. America Rising 2 is another fan DLC/expansion mod that integrated the Enclave faction into the main story with 24 main quests. Caves Of The Commonwealth is another fan expansion that adds 2-5 hours of new gameplay content. Let’s also not forget Fallout London which looks promising. You can also download Sim Settlements 2 – Chapter 3, Whispering Hills which is a cool Silent Hill mod, and The Wilderness Mod. You can also download a new horror quest mod that is inspired by Lovecraft, Resident Evil and Dead Space. Last month, we also shared another quest mod for it. Oh, and the Mass Effect Evolution Mod is once again available for download.
Stay tuned for more!

This game doesn't even deserve your time modding it, let alone making mods for it. That would be the peak of time wasting.
which one?
Who is next for cancellation? Skywind?
hopefully not we really need that one. New vegas needs a openmw.
nah … Skywind is too popular now to fail … same goes skyblivion … and I really need these two mods … just hoping they ship before ES6
I just hope Fallout 4 New Vegas comes out.
This is why regardless of how you feel about fallout frontier and fallout London, these 2 teams deserve some respect for actually finishing their projects. Even if they are buggy and lore breaking, they had the balls to see it thru the end.
respects.
How tf is something finished if it is buggy and lore breaking?
Are you ok there, lad?
Dumba$$ small bugs doesn't mean it's unfinished. You literally can play fallout London start to finish no problem. Idiots like you are why mod teams give up. Spoiled brat who can appreciate free content from fellow fans. Just negativity, Jesus you people are stupid

I played a lot of london and it`s really an amazing piece of work. I had some problems but nothing a few console commands can`t fix.
Exactly!
Guys dedicating their free time for free content for other fellas to consume … and these folks be like, "why is the animation soo stiff?"
The very reason, mods are not popular on consoles, other than the tech limitation factor. Those folks are even dumber.
It's the opposite, actually. The consoletards, like yourself, came to the PC just to start endorsing every shït of modding attempt, making the quality drop overall. We've always crave quality over quantity, but now we even have mods behind pay walls, another indicative that consoletards are meddling in PC business, and were there's stvpid people, there are others trying to milk them.
keep pumping gas into that bubble, karentard
nobody's endorsing "mods behind pay walls" here …
half-baked mods existed in 90s and early 2000s as well,
and as the base games gets more complicated, the work for the few folks working free to mod in order to appease you entitled folks, gets complicated as well.
Next time, spit that old silver spoon outta your mouth, before touching that dang keyboard
By your morönic logic, this one in here is finished as well, since they’ve released it.
Fvcking stvpid.
Is not finished if it's buggy, not to mention the teams for those projects changed from top to bottom over the years.
i guess they couldnt get the quest links to work properly.
This is precisely why I don't pay attention to mods. The majority of them never actually come out. And if they do, it's years after I've already lost any interest I had it in to begin with.
I'm not sure where the fine line is, but announcing a mod several years before you ever get to the finish point is kinda a waste of everyone's time. These projects take so long, and most don't want to devote years and years to a project that will never see the light of day.
I think the best way might just be work on it without announcing it to the world till its pretty much ready. Until then, just work quietly on your passion project, but maybe scale down and release periodic updates instead of just holding off for years and then just drop it and waste everyone's time.
i agree but i think the unreal engine videos that john puts up are worse because they never turn into anything.
Also it is possible that the reason this was canceled and the fallout 1 remake because the team who made fallout london is making a dev studio s o they are recruiting.
Also unrelated but i just saw duke nukem alien Armageddon got a massive update.
Total conversion mods, that is.
Especially if you're working on something that's going to be DMCA'd by the likes of Nintendo or whoever, just shut the f*k up until it's ready for release. I don't understand why more people don't grasp this concept.
Facts! Work on the mod for years THEN announce it. STOP with this constant update. I am STILL waiting for Timesplitters rewind after it was announced back in 2012?? 12 years later its still isnt finished. Its freaking ridiculous.
I'm also canceling my GTA 8 project. I know you were hyped for it because it was made by four nerds with no experience, which screams quality, but unfortunately for you, I'm canceling it. I'd like to apologize to my fans and the fans of this project which is basically me and my mom .
Who cares about these mods, why make articles about this pointless stuff.
This isn't even the actual Project Mojave getting canceled, that already happened when the original devs were hired by Bethesda a couple years ago. Anything made in it used to be a part of F4NV which is still in development.
This mod that was recently canceled was just some other modder trying to continue it (not nearly as high quality as the original though).
Still the attempts count … free stuff from a random dude's basement is always appreciated
Tales of Two Wastelands was a miracle, I didn't expect Project Mojave to be finished.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1DFdBR80LI opposing force remake with amazing level design.
Wonder how much they took in donations
. . .
Hoping for a similar dedicated group of folks, like FO: London folks, do a Fallout project using the Starfield code. Dont target over ambitious stuff like total conversion like New Vegas … instead do something original and smaller … something doable and achievable.
Thx John, Currently playing FO4, not as great as FO3, but with mods its been quite fun….I like the verticality and environmental variety of the landscape. Looks great modded up to.
