Holger Frydrych has just released a VR Mod for the 2007 version of Crytek’s first-person shooter, Crysis. By using this mod, you can now experience that FPS in full VR. So, the question now is. Can your PC run Crysis in VR?
Crysis VR Mod offers a full 6DoF roomscale VR experience. As such, you can play seated or standing with VR motion controllers.
Players can aim their guns naturally with their hands. You can also use two hands to stabilize the guns further. Plus, there are visible player arms with basic IK. Oh, and the mod supports physical melee attacks.
In short, this is the best VR experience you can get right now in Crysis. As noted, this mod is for the original version. It’s NOT for the remaster that came out in 2021. So, make sure to use the right version of the game, otherwise it won’t work.
You can go ahead and download the mod from this link. Below you can also find a video from it. This video will give you an idea of what you can expect. So, make sure to watch it.
Sadly, I don’t have a VR headset so I can’t test the mod. Still, this is something I’d love to play. So, I’m kind of jealous of all of you VR gamers out there.
I also suggest checking out these other VR mods for some other PC games. Half-Life 2 already has a VR Mod, as do Half-Life 2: Episode One and Episode Two. In September 2023, we also shared VR Mods for Portal 2 and Far Cry. Then we have these VR Mods for Resident Evil 4 Remake and Trespasser. Finally, you can play Hogwarts Legacy in VR with this mod.
But wait, there are more. In November 2024, we shared a VR Mod for Silent Hill 2 Remake. Plus, Manor Lords, World of Warcraft and Hellblade 2 also have their own cool VR mods. Oh, and let’s not forget this VR Mod for Halo.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
