Valve silently changes the STEAM storefront policy to restrict usage of VPNs to buy games in other regions

Few weeks back I covered an article in which it was mentioned that ‘Horizon Zero Dawn’s’ PC release version got a price hike globally, due to people misusing VPNs in some countries/regions. Now, an updated policy from the ‘SteamDB’ indicates that Valve is taking measures to restrict users who use a VPN to purchase games at a lower price. EA reports strong Q1 FY21 financial results thanks to FIFA, Madden NFL and APEX Legends MTX

Electronic Arts has announced the preliminary financial results for its first fiscal quarter ended June 30th. And, according to the publisher, Q1 FY21 was a very strong quarter, with net bookings up 17% year-over-year mainly thanks to microtransactions. People Can Fly today announced the development of a new original AAA game. This game will release on next-generation platforms, including the PC. New ‘BootHole’ security Vulnerability revealed, puts millions of systems at risk including Linux & Windows OS

Security researchers at Eclypsium have discovered a new severe vulnerability that affects the bootloader process used by virtually every Linux system in use, and almost every Windows OS PC device using ‘Secure Boot’ with Microsoft’s standard Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) certificate authority. A high-rated security vulnerability found in the Secure Boot function of the majority of laptops, desktops, workstations and servers has been confirmed.
