Sleeping Dogs officially announced; open-world cop game by United Front Games

Square Enix London Studios, a part of Square Enix Europe, has announced Sleeping Dogs, a gritty and visceral openworld cop drama set in the vibrant city of Hong Kong. Developed by United Front Games in collaboration with the renowned Square Enix London Studios, Sleeping Dogs will be available in the second half of 2012 for PS3, X360 and PC. LOTR’s Middle Earth comes to Oblivion with MERP; Project will be ported to Skyrim

LOTR and Oblivion fans, here is something special for you today. The Merp Team has released a new beta version for their upcoming total conversion, Middle-Earth Roleplaying Project. As the title suggests, this mod is a fully open-ended environment where players can play all known races – Elves, Men, Hobbits and Dwarves – and take part in the War of the Ring. Namco Bandai has released the first Behind the Game video of Ridge Racer: Unbounded. Ridge Racer: Unbounded is developed by Bugbear Entertainment, the team behind our beloved FlatOut, and is the first Ridge Racer title to hit the PC. Sanctum 2 is coming to XBLA, PSN and PC in 2013

Fresh off the runaway success of Dungeon Defenders (which recently surpassed 1 million units sold across all platforms), digital experts Reverb Publishing has announced a partnership with the veteran development team at Coffee Stain Studios to publish the PC, Xbox LIVE and PlayStation Network version of Sanctum 2, the sequel to its incredibly popular PC title, Sanctum. A.D.O.N. Project is a retro inspired platformer that has been in development for quite some time by Alessandro Salvati. I’m pretty sure that you have never heard about it, so here is the deal; A.D.O.N. Project is gorgeous looking 2D platformer with pre-rendered backgrounds that mixes perfectly Sonic, Shinobi, Megaman and Abuse. New Assetto Corsa Screenshots

Alongside the announcement of the official licensing for Monza’s racing circuit, Autodromo di Monza, KUNOS Simulazioni has released some brand new screenshots for their upcoming racing sim game. Assetto Corsa is a DX11 games and is being designed to provide a very realistic driving experience, with single player and multiplayer options, officially licensed cars and tracks developed using Laser scan technology, and the highest level of accuracy possible in reproducing real world motor racing environments. Skyrim Open Cities Mod is one of the most promising ‘gameplay mods’ and is available right now

Seems that some modders have been waiting patiently for the release of the Creation Kit and Steam’s Workshop, as modder Arthmoor has just released a very promising mod for Skyrim. Open Cities Skyrim is a comprehensive project that aims to bring back at least part of the feel of Morrowind – specifically how most of the cities were a natural part of the world and you could just walk in without loading screens. The added immersion and realism goes a long way, probably a lot more than you might think. Alan Wake – PC vs X360 Comparison Teaser Image; PC shows noticeable graphical improvements

Admit it. Most of you, PC gamers were simply expecting a small graphical increase over the X360 version of Alan Wake, right? Well, guess again. Remedy’s Markus has released a teaser comparison between the X360 version and the PC version (1080p in high detail) and as you can see, the PC version has noticeable improvements in textures, shader effects and LOD detail. Make no mistake, Alan Wake PC will look great and we can’t wait to get our hands on it. Alan Wake PC is slated for release on February 16th. Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad will introduce a new ‘RO classic’ mode

You know what? I quite like Red Orchestra 2. Sure some might say that it was bugged to death when it got released but right now, the game is functional, runs great (no slowdowns with our Q9650 @ 4.2Ghz with GTX295), and is greatly supported from Tripwire. Yeah, it’s not as awesome as its first part but this does not mean that it is a bad game. What was that? The bleeding system that was introduced got on your nerves? Well, get ready because Tripwire is preparing a new, ‘RO classic’ mode that will be similar to the old style of Red Orchestra and there won’t be any bleeding. Oh yeah. Bethesda’s Pete Hines has announced that Skyrim’s Creation Kit is finally available on Steam. Those interested in ‘playing’ with it will need Skyrim, as the Kit is not available to those gamers that have not purchased Bethesda’s RPG.
