It’s been rumoured that a new Metro has been under development for quite a while. Well, not anymore. According to the official website for the Metro 2035 novel by Dmitry Glukhovsky, a new Metro game is indeed under development and it is currently planned for a 2017 release.
According to the website, this new Metro game will be picking up the story where the novels ended.
Exciting news, right? Well, let’s be realistic here; don’t expect a new triple-A Metro game in 2017. While it seems that a new Metro game is indeed under development, we don’t expect it to be released in 2017.
After all, the Metro 2035 website has other inaccuracies too. For example, Dmitry Glukhovsky’s website claims that the Metro 2035 novel was released in 2015, when in fact this novel is still not available.

Actually, it appears that the Metro 2035 novel was released in June 2015 in Russia (and in November 4th in Poland).

Metro is one of the best FPS franchises ive ever played and this news makes me very happy. Metro Last Light is still one of the best looking shooters next to crysis 3 we have, and it seems to age extremely well.
I love the Metro games almost as much as the STALKER games. Come on GSC with STALKER 2 announcment!

my interest is already piqued, coop would seal the deal. Thankfully I raised my younger brother(13) to hate CoD and generic games in general, he loves the Metro series and playing this with my brother would be awesome

Now that Deep Silver owns the IP, I hope the ones developing it is Techland and they make it a proper open world. I love exploring Metro’s atmospheric environment

Heck yeah!!! Metro: Last Light was one of the most anticipated games for me and one of the 5 games I pre-ordered because I knew it was going to be great…and it was.
Being a fan of STALKER (still play it time to time with Misery mod and other variants) this is the only game with that feel (same developers). It is more scripted and not open world though, but if the rumours are right this “last” game could also be more of an open world experience and I’m all for it.
This is great news i love the metro games. I cant wait to support these devs
