A while back, some “fishy” rumours surfaced regarding Battlefield 5. According to those rumours, the next Battlefield game would be called Battlefield 5: Eastern Front. Well, it’s been now confirmed – from the one who created the fake posters – that those rumours were fake. So yeah, no Eastern Front for you guys.
As you may have noticed, we did not post these rumours regarding Battlefield 5 because they did not seem legit. However, a lot of other gaming websites reported and shared these rumours about Battlefield 5: Eastern Front. So, well played Battlefield fan for fooling those websites.
Battlefield 5 will be officially revealed on May 6th, so stay tuned for more!

What’s interesting is that everyone assumed that those leaks meant WW1 or WW2, if you knew Battlefield, you’d see that the guy who made them simply looked at the wiki for 2142.
Eastern Front referred to a conflict in the Eastern front which escalated the war in BF2142 and it partially took place in Minsk, Ukraine, which was mentioned in his fake doc as a dlc map.
“The PAC started the Cold War of the 22nd Century in 2139 by invading Minsk, a key EU command center in Northern Europe, with their newly formed Titan fleet in November. The invasion, known as Operation Canute, involving three battalions led by General Arkadi Petrov, secured the city for the PAC. The objective of the invasion was to either occupy or force out the European Union and claim any remaining resources for themselves.”
I have full confidence that BF5 will be a prequel to 2142.
This has been hinted at since BF3 in the form of easter eggs in the last two games, and BF4 concludes with the creation of the Pan Asian Coalition in the “Final Stand” DLC pack, a major faction from 2142, as well as several depictions of advanced military prototypes which included bipedal Mechs, a Russian engine test site for a Titan (airborne equivalent of an aircraft carrier) and playable hover tanks, just to name a few…
Unfortunately, even if this is the case, I have no doubt EA-DICE will find 100 million different ways to turn it into “Battlefield 4: 2142,” instead of actually making “Battlefield: 2140.”
Likewise if it turns out to be Bad Company 3 >.<
Regardless, fingers crossed they get it right for once in 10 years, though as I said, doubt it.
