Activision, in collaboration with Sony Pictures Consumer Products, has announced a new Ghostbusters video game set in and inspired by the upcoming Ghostbusters film. In order to celebrate this announcement, Activision released the first screenshots and a trailer that can be viewed below.
Ghostbusters will be a third-person action role-playing game with co-op support for up to four players locally.
“As rookie Ghostbusters, players can level up their characters’ gear and abilities by tackling objectives, defeating ghastly creatures and discovering hidden collectibles in Manhattan’s most haunted haunts. There are four heroes to choose from, and each has his or her own unique personality and play style, bringing special strengths to support the team.”
Ghostbusters will be released on Steam on July 15th.
Enjoy!

No thanks.
Did we need this? After showing off that the movie would feature women instead of men. Gawdd dayum.
A Dyke? OH NO. Get these sheboons out my sight.
So we have an Activation published movie tie in for a franchise that’s gone from a well written, well acted sci fi comedy to a completely unfunny attempt to shoehorn in identity politics pandering purely as a gimmick? Ya, I think I’ll skip passing and go straight for running the f*ck away.
Sorry,im not interesting even if this game is free..
Bring back the males and all will be fine amirite?
With that writing? Not even the original case could save that trainwreck.
I hear you, nobody get’s Ghostbusters.
GIRL POWER!!!
Aka, gringeworthy “feminist” writing.
Polygon:FEMMINST GAME, GOTY 10/10…HAS DIVERSE FEMALE CHARACTERS.
Reminds me of Overlord: Fellowship of Evil and that’s not a good thing.
It’s not trying to directly portray the cast of the new movie… It seems to be trying to sidestep that controversy with a mixed bag of no-names + girls to reference the cast changes.
The Ghostbusters game with the original cast is actually a pretty good game.
insta-buy if they add Melissa McCarthy face in the game, seriously.
