Fallout New Vegas fans, here’s something for you today. Modder ‘TheKetzku’ released a new mod for it that upgrades the game’s audio system. It’s called ATMOS Ambience Overhaul, and it makes the sounds in New Vegas much better. So, let’s take a closer look at it.
The ATMOS Ambience Overhaul Mod will upgrade the background sounds in the game with modern enhancements. It also uses advanced technology to make sounds come from specific directions. Plus, the mod includes over 1000 new custom-made sound effects, created with high-quality equipment used in the film industry. Additionally, it includes other cool audio features to make your time in the Mojave Desert feel even more realistic and immersive.
All in all, this is a really cool mod for all audio fans. And, since there aren’t a lot of audio enhancement mods for FNV, you should definitely check it out. You can download the mod from this link. At the end of the article, you can also find a video from it. This video will give you an idea of what you can expect from it. As such, I highly recommend watching it.
If you are into Fallout: New Vegas, you can also try these other mods for it. For instance, this mod adds real-time reflections. Another one changes over 1,000 functions to make the game run smoother. Oh, and there’s a mod that reduces landscape texture seams. Plus, there’s a mod to make the game’s characters even smarter. Another must-have mod is this one which improves collision accuracy, and fixes/optimizes meshes. And if you love quests, there’s a mod that gives you an endless supply of new ones. Let’s also not forget Visuals Improved Content Expanded Mod. This mod fills the surroundings of Vegas to make it feel more like a real city.
There are also some cool fan-made expansions for New Vegas. Four of them are being made as we speak. These are Fallout: Broken City, Fallout Van buren Remake, Fallout: Nuevo Mexico and Star Wars Open Worlds. On the other hand, we have these DLC-sized mods that you can grab and play right now. These fan expansion mods are Fallout New California, Fallout: Free Cheyenne Demo, Fallout New Vegas: Out of Bounds and Fallout The Frontier.
Last month, we also shared an RTX Remix video for Fallout New Vegas. That video showcased a WIP version of an RTX Remix Mod that aimed to add Full Ray Tracing/Path Tracing to the game. Sadly, though, there is still no ETA on when the first version of this mod will come out. Naturally, though, I’ll be sure to keep you posted.
Have fun and stay tuned for more!

no it isn’t.
Who cares about the show.
It’s like if I would care about the upcoming Bioshock movie. They will f it up, no other way.
Imagine Hollywood trying to adapt Bioshock themes the right way. Impossible.
i dont care about the show at all but bethesda considering as canon
Who cares what corporate markets as canon?
They have no idea what they’re doing nowadays.
I will be pirating this mod for the glory of allah
Thanks Jonathan
Did you take your meds today bro?!!
No, I was busy basically committing theft for allah.
As someone who favours great sound design over more pixels or polygons on a screen, this is quite the treat. Combining this with 3D audio/HRTF (unless this mod is exactly just that) would be an incredible experience for sure. It’s a shame at how overlooked that technology is. I wasn’t even aware of it till recent years.
I don’t know anything about the technical side of HRTF or directional sound, but as a regular player of the old Thief games, I sure enjoy good spatial sound design!
It really improves the experience.
Yeah, it works really well with games which put actual effort in their audio design. You’re able to pick up on certain cues which you otherwise wouldn’t. A lot of games, especially modern ones, do a terrible job at it but I think Thief is maybe one of the better examples on how to do it properly.
A YouTube channel by the name of ‘I Drink Lava – 3D Game Audio’ does a great job at showcasing it. They’ve covered tons of games, both old and new using those tools.
Im a big fan of accurate positional 3D sound, and I agree this is a treat!
I don’t consider myself an audiophile, but I am an audio enthusiast, and I use a DAC/Amp + High quality Reference oipen-back headphones for great audio experience.
Same. I’ve only relied on the internal sound system which comes with the most motherboards these days and a pretty expensive Sennheiser headphones I’ve been using for so long, since I’ve always felt they were good enough. I also have a mini amplifier which helps to enrich the experience, especially when it comes to bass. But I definitely need to upgrade to a better one since it was quite cheap and doesn’t come with all the perks I imagine the more costly ones do.
Each post is like a dose of optimism and wisdom. Thank you for enriching our lives!
