Starfield feature-4

Starfield gets a mod that fixes its sprinting stuttering issues

Modder ‘AntoniX35’ has released a mod for Starfield that fixes the annoying twitching/stuttering when sprinting on uneven ground. This is a must-have mod for Starfield, and we highly recommend downloading it as it should be compatible with all the previous mods we’ve shared.

For those wondering, this issue was also present in Fallout 4. Fallout 4 also suffered from lengthy loading times, for which the same modder released a mod to reduce them.

You can download the Sprint Stuttering Fix Mod for Starfield from here. At the end of the article, you can also find a video that showcases it in action.

Starfield has already gotten some truly amazing mods that everyone should use. For instance, this mod solves the game’s elevated black levels/washed-out graphics. You can also use this guide in order to increase your FOV. Then we have this AI-upscaled 4K Texture Pack. And let’s not forget the DLSS 2/XeSS and DLSS 3 Frame Generation mods. These mods will improve your overall experience, and we highly recommend downloading all of them.

Lastly, be sure to read our PC Performance Analysis. Starfield is one of the most multi-threaded PC games we’ve seen lately. However, the game also does not justify its huge GPU requirements, especially since it doesn’t use any Ray Tracing effects. Thus, let’s hope that Bethesda will improve its performance via some post-lanch updates.

Stay tuned for more!

  1. A “mod” that is a .dll file, with no real, proper description of what REALLY this file does, and how it works, downloading a dll from some random dude, it’s fishy 😉
Of course Nexus mod team doesn’t give a f*ck about it.
Speaking of Nexus, navigation on this website is still bad.

Besides a .dll and ASI scripting create even more load on hardware so it’s not ideal solution.

The stuttering comes from how the streaming data works in this engine, it’s every ~200m, when you sprint like a headless chicken those stutters are very noticeable.
They could inrease the range, maybe this can be even done by game .ini files, but the game/engine could fall off.

  2. There must be some mistake. Turd Howard has gone on the record as saying that Starfield was optimized before release. Surely Howard wouldn’t lie to us. He respects gamers too much to lie to us.

    1. In comparison to previous games, this game is more stable than anything Bethesda has ever released.

As for performance is dynamic, I have stable 60FPS on my AMD build at Ultra settings, I know people with NVidia who have the same experience, and even a person with a low end rig running the game with no problem on lower settings.

Obviously I cannot speak for everyone in the world, regardless we cannot ignore both Intel and NVidia issues with the Creation Engine and drivers (both brands have issues in Skyrim, Fallout 4 and their own drivers), people just like to blame AMD cause of sponsor deal, they clearly not thinking straight.

      1. same here, I’m running Starfield 60FPS on a Sammy 980 Pro with an i5 12400F and a 4070 and *never* felt any stuttering of any kind at 1440p/ Ultra @144hz…

  3. Hm I wasn’t aware of this bug until this and I’m 30+hrs into it. I use a 2x movement speed hack though because the distances on some planets to where the temples and such are are crazy to have to do default speeds. But I guess I remember that after a bit running on FO4 it did sort of have a “beat” mini-freeze hard to explain like it just needed a microsecond to load in I don’t remember stutter there though. A form of ground based transpo is needed, like a hover bike but of course that assumes a lot about a planets grav levels, ambient atmosphere etc

This is the same engine as FO4, all the hacks and mods from that could likely just be renamed where to go etc and reused as is lol I think there’s a mod up there for switching the streaming from your my documents folder to your install location too saw it yesterday. I also use the Easy Digipick mod to cut down on that, it’s a fun system but gets old after a while. There’s one to cut down the temple floating markers to just one, cutting filler out. Fling of course. The DLSS2 mod disables sharpening so switched back to FSR2 which has sharpening which is needed for this game. QOL filler cutting for time savings in this game is pretty crucial imo for busy people. I did one of those LUT mods as well, not a reshade user.

lmao i do that im morrowind, some redditor was like “omg people complain it doesnt have maps so its like morrowind, no morrowind had maps it didnt have quest markers.

      1. Never played that, no it does have markers in your scanner mode so you know which direction to go for them but temples you have to find via visual static your scanner recieves then at a certain point it detects the temple and puts it on your hud marker. Of course by that point you can easily see these temples they’re hard to miss. Like a few other games the quest markers sometimes switch themselves if you just talked to an npc for a new quest that happened to be on your path to a previously marked quest, which is obnoxious. But sometimes it doesn’t auto switch. Can be a major hassle if you have a bunch of quests in your que to have to go switch it back yourself.

        1. And a lot of people don’t seem to get that in the cities the point of no map is immersion, it’s a design choice not an oversight. This happens all the time with critics who are really just not too intelligent to realize this. Also the long distances mean the terrain you go through has various animals and minerals so it’s a combat/explore/mining play set, which I’m not interested in it’s grinding to me and time sink. The cities once you explore them are not that big more like settlements, no map needed just for them, but snowflake culture in modern comments threads.

In the video here I could barely notice a difference, looks like playing on hdd vs ssd really and the terrain looked to be the real cause of “stutter” imo Notice no FPS was ever shown in the video either, for_a_reason. Hard Pass since I just don’t get that at all in 30+hrs of play.

  4. wait there are stuttering bugs? I thought that was gone by having ssds, wtf bethesda?

Also someone has already made a mod that removes the pronouns and a mod that removes blacks…for some reason.

find it at basedmods eth link put dots between spaces
