The Day Before screenshots-4

Unreal Engine 5-powered MMO, The Day Before, has been delayed until November 2023

Fntastic was originally planning to release its survival MMO game, The Day Before, on March 1st. However, and due to a trademark/copyright claim, the team has now delayed the game until November 10th, 2023.

Fntastic claimed that it has received a trademark claim/complaint from an individual on January 19th, 2023. As such, the team has decided to postpone the game’s launch to November 10th, 2023.

What’s ironic here is that Fntastic has also decided to postpone the release of the game’s gameplay video. Originally, the team was planning to release a gameplay video prior to the game’s launch. However, it now states that it “will consult with lawyers first” before publishing anything. I also don’t know how and why they chose November 10th. How accurate is that specific date with these ongoing legal issues? A generic “November 2023” release date window would have been more accurate.

A lot of people have been calling The Day Before a vaporware game. And, as we’ve said multiple times, you should not be pre-ordering games. Even if this is a vaporware, you won’t lose any money. So, again, stop pre-ordering games.

Anyway, the bottom line is that you won’t be playing this survival MMO game anytime soon!

    1. What scam? You can’t buy the game, who are they f*king scamming? It’s also easy to verify if someone filed a trademark on the name or not.

      1. in fact SCAM isn’t the right word here.. they stealed nothing more than our time and attention right now.. so.. ridiculous maybe is the word, but definitely not scam 😛

        1. They definitely didn’t steal anyone’s time as all the trailers collectively barely make a few minutes.

The time you lost on videos and articles doubting this game as some big conspiracy to scam was your choice and that was the actual scam as you(not you specifically) paid video creators and article writers by accessing their content who pretty much told you nothing but “scam” or “dubious” without backing it up with anything.

        1. Yeah, you are bound to know what apps that developer does as long as you got interested in one of their products. Who doesn’t research what else that developers did or will do if they are interested in one of their products??

Also, those apps you speak of is just one and it is related to remote work, has nothing to do with the audience of a video game.

      2. They’re more than likely scamming investors. They release a vertical slice of pre-rendered gameplay and pass it off as an actual game. Get tons of people interested and wish list it on steam. Then they show the numbers to potential investors asking for more money to complete the game.

        1. Yeah, but investors put money into things specifically because they want to profit from it. If the product doesn’t live up to standards they are still at least getting their money back no matter what. You can’t scam investors unless you disappear off grid with all their money in your hands.

CDPR is a more recent example in gaming.

        1. Not interested in that app and I am not sure I am interested enough to buy the game on launch either if it releases, no matter the state it comes in.

  1. The game has been REMOVED from Steam yesterday (SteamDB).
CM / dev was blamming Steam for some “glitch”, that person was also avoiding questions from the community.
The team also banned people on discord and Steam for asking question about the game.
One month from release and we didn’t get any real infro, no price, no content, no raw gameplay, no news, nothing.
Last thing we get was lame, few seconds RTX Teaser…
This game is stinky pile of scam.

  3. Why does everyone say don’t pre-order, don buy, don’t do this and that when talking about this game? There isn’t a single way to give a penny for this game and right now you can’t even put it on wishlist. It feels to me like people who make videos and articles on this game, profiting from it are actually the ones scamming.

Sound advice and also true with many tripple a release’s that are basically betas, wait a month before even considering them – By then most major beta buggs / perf issues usually have been patched. Or better yet punish the dev’s who releases in such poor state by waiting for the first discounts voting with your money. Tripple win in my book. More game for less and a dev who hopefully start to polish some before releasing a game in beta state as it will cost more in the end…
