Square Enix and Luminous Productions have announced that they will release a free playable PC demo later today. According to the teams, this PC demo will be available on all available digital stores, meaning that it will appear on Steam, Epic Games Store and Microsoft Store.
In the PC demo, players will face-off with a variety of enemies and test their fighting abilities with an extensive arsenal of attack and support magic that will prepare them for the high-octane action they can expect to encounter in the full game.
A few days ago, Square Enix revealed the game’s official PC system requirements. These PC specs appear to be quite high, and the game will be most likely favouring AMD’s hardware. Not only that, but Forspoken will be using the Denuvo anti-tamper tech.
Now the good news is that PC gamers can at least try the free demo and see for themselves how the game performs on their systems.
Forspoken releases later today on PC. Although Square Enix has not provided us with a PC review code, we’ve already pre-ordered it. Thus, expect some first PC performance impressions once it launches.

Whoever wants to play the full game make sure you activate it and run the demo.
We checked it and it seems the game’s demo is gonna use Denuvo too. Looks like the engine is gonna accept the full game files too (like a Frankenstein build)

For now, the game doesn’t load the full unlocked files that are not in the demo.
Those who are, are loaded into RAM and give some good results , but also bad results (some string offsets disappear).

Edit : forgot it, about the files that aren’t loaded. We buy a Russian copy and basically compare the stack diffs and assembly passes to load them.
This is really hard with VMProtect and very far from calling it a crack, but still there can be an option for a hybrid-ish bypass.
Also, whether it uses Denuvo or no that’s what the steamdb said. But we don’t mind as we look at the demo as our starting point. If it was that easy to use a demo Denuvo ticket in case it was the same – we wouldn’t try so so hard to Frankenstein and create a hybrid build, as one could just greenluma the game without any difficulty

Several people have said that Square Enix runs a blacklist and people who were negative about a Square Enix game in the past, no longer get review copies:

Suspect many publishers do, and it’s the main reason i don’t trust most reviewers anymore – Many are biased in order to keep getting review copies. It’s better to wait until the independent ones who bought the copies and even better yet wait for the first real sale as by then the usual aaa beta period is over…. some 4-5 patches after release. Tripple win (good reviews available, saving a buck and get a better product than @ full price release)
