New Star Citizen video showcases the major features of Alpha 3.14

Cloud Imperium has released a new official video for Star Citizen in which it showcases all of the major features coming soon to Alpha 3.14.

According to the devs, Star Citizen Alpha 3.14 will feature the first version of planetary volumetric clouds. Additionally, it will pack several advancements to ship and vehicle operations. These new operations aim to further improve the combat experience in the game.

Star Citizen Alpha 3.14 will also have improved radar and scanning functionalities. Moreover, the team will implement a new and improved HUD, as well as a “Surrender” option.

Although there isn’t any ETA yet, Cloud Imperium plans to release Star Citizen Alpha 3.14 later this Summer.

    1. No. 370 M$ not even totally spent in 2021, starting from scratch which is the equivalent of several hundreds M$ to hire devs over years and build every single pipelines.

Generally the people wanting a discussion about this game being a scam is SC brand ambassadors… If i take a game like Duke Nukem Forever and accused that game of being vaporware (before being released), no one would bat an eye. Games that take too long often get this sort of negative attention.

      – words have definition with precise meaning: an illegal plan for making money.

      Scam have zero meaning in SC context.

      You don’t scam anyone by spending all pledges received to pay +600 devs + external companies while making free weeks event several times per year available to anyone on the planet….

      A true scam would be to pretend to develop a kickstarted project, release some ‘updated’ video over a period of few quarters or years then run away with cash that have never been used for the project. That is a criminal activity.

      The problem with haters is that they used words out of context. They have roughly a dictionary limited to three words: scam, ponsi, vaporware. I can’t wait to read their comments after SQ42 release 🙂

            I joined Star Citizen last year after being skeptical for many years. Lord, I was wrong. Community is great with a strong dedicated subReddit.
            Still alpha without doubt but getting also way more stable since the last patch with several new gameplay estimated to drop in Q4. I can’t stop coming back which is a good sign, knowing I am not joining msot alpha if any.

            I would never have joined without the pugnacity of backers to be so kind while providing information helping to deconstruct messages of pure hatred from guys who have not much to do beside providing partial and totally inaccurate information if not straight lies.

            Thanks for providing facts rather than insults!

            May I suggest two things?
            Ignore at once or at least don’t carry on a discussion with a profile like this guy. He clearly attempts to harrass you and does show a remarkable ability to be both hypocrite and vulgar.

    Don’t interpret me wrong, it’s looking great the roadmap and all. But by now you’d have gotten at least the foundations of the overworld/universe ready.

      It’s a bit like what conflicted between UBISOFT and Michel Ancel, in terms of restarting/redrawing designs in a project (Beyond Good & Evil 2) and the issue with the Corporate board’s deadline set for the project.

        Let’s ignore Freelancer was released… because CR made it. The fact Microsoft jump in during the last part to add some fresh cash does not change anything:

        – Microsoft would have never started a single line of codes to make Freelancer

        – Kickstarter was not existing +2 decades ago otherwise players would had complemented what was required to get the game they were looking for.

        @Amadeus will conveniently forget CR and is brother Erin are knew to deliver good to memorable games. Ignoring the Wing Commanders series, translated by haters in “he bloats every project”… lie & obfuscation are they daily proof 🙂

        1. Interesting counterarguments on both sides, i guess we’ll have to wait & see, if it ever releases and becomes a commercial success or flops and may be interpreted as a scam and/or risky investment.
          Myself i was fascinated by the level of detail in the ship design and gameplay planned features, but then was put-off by the $10 & $20 Monthly Membership pay-wall, to try a sandbox unfinished game… it’s like making people pay >like in 1998< a subscription for Garry's Mod, instead of a single payment for the PRODUCT you buy (and should own depending of your country's legislation).

            The beauty of /SQ42SC is that CIG can offer the same lore in solo or MMO gameplay style and without mandatory subscription.
