Nvidia has already released its Ampere lineup of GPUs, and we have been hearing a lot of chatter on the web regarding the company’s plans to counter AMD’s upcoming RDNA 2 GPU lineup of cards. Many new SKUs were already rumored before, some also got cancelled, but some of the cards are still on the launch pipeline, sporting better specs than previous counterparts as well.
If you have been following the latest tech news and Nvidia’s roadmap since past few months or so, then you might have heard rumors that Nvidia was allegedly prepping to launch more SKUs in the current Ampere GPU lineup.
Now we have some more leaks on Nvidia’s Ampere GPU lineup, once again as reported by Kopite7kimi, a known and reliable Nvidia leaker. For the RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3060 Ti GPU rumors, please kindly check this article. Kopite7kimi has provided us with some fresh info on the GA106 GPU core silicon used and reserved by Nvidia for mid-range/mainstream SKUs.
According to the leaker, Nvidia has two more SKUs in the pipeline, the RTX 3060 and RTX 3050 Ti, respectively. It appears this time we won’t be getting any GTX-branded cards lacking hardware Ray Tracing/Tensor cores, assuming this rumor is trustworthy in the first place.
Ah, the desktop cards based on GA106 will be called
RTX 3060(3840FP32)
and
RTX 3050 Ti(3584FP32).
😅I don't know if it will change in the future.— kopite7kimi (@kopite7kimi) November 4, 2020
According to Kopite7kimi, the RTX 3060 would allegedly feature 3840 FP32 CUDA cores, while RTX 3050 Ti would stick to 3584 FP32 CUDA cores. Both these cards are going to be based on the same GA106 GPU silicon, and the Memory bus width is expected to be 192-bit, which means these cards can feature either 6 GB or 12 GB of GDDR6 VRAM.
Both 6 GB and 12 GB configurations seem possible. This would also be the first time NVIDIA is bringing RTX support on its x050-series SKUs. The RTX 3060 is expected to launch around the first week of January 2021, while RTX 3050 Ti SKU is expected to hit retail shelves between January and February, next year 2021 that is.
As per some rumors, Nvidia also plans to release the RTX 3050 non-Ti variant as well. But no info on the GPU specifications or the release date has been shared yet. But we can expect Nvidia to target the low-end/entry-level and mid-range GPU market segment as well, like they have done in the past.
This all depends on how well AMD responds back with their low-end/mid-range/mainstream NAVI RX 6000-series lineup, which is based on the new and refined RDNA 2 GPU architecture.
Stay tuned for more!
Hello, my name is NICK Richardson. I’m an avid PC and tech fan since the good old days of RIVA TNT2, and 3DFX interactive “Voodoo” gaming cards. I love playing mostly First-person shooters, and I’m a die-hard fan of this FPS genre, since the good ‘old Doom and Wolfenstein days.
MUSIC has always been my passion/roots, but I started gaming “casually” when I was young on Nvidia’s GeForce3 series of cards. I’m by no means an avid or a hardcore gamer though, but I just love stuff related to the PC, Games, and technology in general. I’ve been involved with many indie Metal bands worldwide, and have helped them promote their albums in record labels. I’m a very broad-minded down to earth guy. MUSIC is my inner expression, and soul.

How about they just concentrate on getting their current cards in stock.
Indeed. The availability and the stock issue is the main concern, instead of giving us new GPU models every 4-6 months or so.
The demand/supply situation has been really bad this year, and its gonna continue till next year as well. I don’t think we can easily buy Nvidia’s even next year, despite Jensen making Bold claims that the supply will get stable.
Don’t know about AMD’s stock issue though. We will know this soon on 18’th November though.
So in sub $200 USD range, we might be able to buy a compatible RTX card, having support for ray tracing/DLSS as well ? Hmmm,..
299$ maybe but less then that forget it. 300$ is the new ,,low end,, for now. You will get something from amd for that price but rtx for 200$ or less how do you expect Jensen to buy a new leather jacket every single day you don’t expect him to wash/clean and wear it again now do you? 🙂
Thanks, this made a no brainer decision to wait for dirt cheap 1080Ti then.
An RTX card slower than a 6500 XT / 6600 XT / 6700 / 6700 XT, yes
What are you gonna raytrace with that, Minesweeper & Solitaire? Pfffftt
It’s the perfect fit for Mestemacher Whole Rye Bread.
See, I told ya’ll in a previous post. Nvidia is gonna variant you to death.
Incoming, 3090, 3080, 3070, 3060, 3050. Then the 3090 ti, 3080 ti, 3070 ti, 3060 ti, 3050 ti. 5 months later, the 3090 super, 3080 super, 3070 super, 3060 super, 3050 super. Then the 3090 super ti, 3080 super ti, 3070 super ti, 3060 super ti, 3050 super ti. Then on the refresh 3090 ti Super, 3080 ti Super, 3070 ti Super, 3060 ti super, 3050 ti super. Then if all hell fails and doesn’t live up to expectations: 3090 ti Super ti, 3080 ti Super ti, 3070 ti Super ti, 3060 ti super ti, 3050 ti super ti.
Messiah, I just saved you a whole 6 months of Nvidia’s coverage. ?
The 3060 will cost over 400 bucks in real world price. The 3050s will be in the 300s even though they should be the “low end”. The mining craze ended years ago, AMD is actually competitive in terms of performance again, and yet GPUs have the worst prices ever. What’s the newest excuse for never ending price hikes and lack of production volume? Oh yeah, memory cost. Keep it up and people will just buy graphics cards USED in the future. Then GPU manufacturers will be in the same bad spot as car manufacturers. What are they going to make money off? GPUs don’t need maintenance. Are they going to start selling the driver updates for a subscription fee? Intel is entering the market as well even though apparently there aren’t enough factories in the world to service even half the demand. What a bizarre market.
