Hyper Light Drifter and Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden are free on the Epic Store, FEZ next week

This week the Epic Games Store is adding two new games to the extensive library of releases they have been giving away for free. Players can now get their copy of both the 2D, action-RPG Hyper Light Drifter, and the isometric strategy game Mutant Year Zero.

Developed by a studio named Heart Machine, Hyper Light Drifter has been described by its lead developer as a amalgamation of Diablo’s dungeon crawling, with the exploration of The Legend of Zelda. The game explodes onto your screen in a pixel art style of bright, neon colours, and the top-down action is snappy and enagaging.

Mutant Year Zero: Road To Eden, on the other hand, offers slower and more calculated gameplay with an emphasis on strategy (much like the entries in the XCOM series). Chris wrote a brilliant review on this game  when it was released last year, so be sure to check that out if you would like to know more. Plus, you get to play as a giant duck!

On the 22nd of August, the Epic Games store will be releasing FEZ, and as per usual, we will be sure to  remind our readers here.

Enjoy!

    1. It’s free games!!! It would be unprofessional aF if they just went and cried about EA/Epic like everyone likes to do.. including me. Hell I even add the games to my account even tho I have not once ever used it. Still…. free games are free games!!

    2. Not just sad, it’s absolutely tragic. Let’s all come together and cry about it.
