Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 has shipped 750K copies, Lords of the Fallen has been played by 7 million players

CI Games has announced that Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 has shipped 750K copies worldwide. In addition, the team revealed that more than 7 million players have played the first Lord of the Fallen title, making it its best performing game. It comes as no surprise then that the team is looking into developing its sequel.

In the last quarter it managed to reach PLN 17.7 million in revenues and 3.6 million net profit. During the period of January-September 2017, revenue amounted to 90.9 million revenue and PLN 5.1 million profit. Do note that, according to CI Games, these are estimates. The final quarter results will be revealed at the end of November.

Marek Tymi?ski, CEO of CI Games, said:

“We are in talks with potential partners, whom we will entrust to develop (our games). Their development will be outsourced to other studios. The first game was a great success and it is now one of our strongest brands. We estimate that over 7 million players have played Lords of the Fallen so far, which is a strong foundation for the next part.”

CI Games is currently planning on the production of the sequel to Lords of the Fallen, Lords of the Fallen 2, and a new tactical shooter. The budget for each of them will be similar to the first Lords of the Fallen game, around 30 million.

  1. not bad for a half a$$ed AA publisher
kinda suprising how much lords of the fallen sold, for a buggy souls clone
it was alright, but nothing amazing
the graphics though, in 2014 were breathtaking, (and so was their accursed first gen-denovu DRM)

    1. no bugs? no glitches? damn sonny, you were lucky
i had multiple stuck in geometry situations and random crashes
but gameplay aside it was pretty fun, even the generic diablo design was fun

what i didn’t like, was the half a r s e d storyline which they throwaway at the end
but like i said, it was a very poor studio and a AA project
if LotF 2 arrives, i sure hope it will be a polished product, and not a rushed mess…

    2. Compared to what known AA devs and publishers are producing these days, it was a great game even if it was a souls clone and above all it was fun to play though kind of short and Denovo didn’t harmed anything except pirates when it was released, I hate DRMs myself but people cry way too much on that.

      1. i don’t remember the original cod getting called a MoH clone because it was actually better
this is not. this is a clone.

i don’t mind the souls genre as a whole, if done proper it could be better than the original
but since they didn’t really put into heart and soul into it, it felt rushed, it felt unfinished, unPOLISHED

FROM rarely makes unfinished games (aside from DS2&3 because they were made by the B team, miazkai is still strongly against sequels)

as of right now LotF was the closest souls clone, while indie plebs shuffle out 2D souls clones left and right, because it’s easy to do and very profitable

i have yet to see a 3D souls game that surpassed the original
when it does, the “souls” genre will be just called
        Hack N slash

          1. really? that’s your best comeback?
i’ve heard better insults from pre-school children
shame on you for lacking creativity, you basement dwelling weeb!

      1. Whoa, so aggressive. Mommy doesn’t love you? You hate your dad?

Not so long ago DSO Gaming published an article saying RYSE: Son of Rome was free on GameSessions, kid. That’s why I mentioned it.

  2. 7 million people “played” probably means they are including free weekends and things like that. Gotta watchout for PR speak.

    1. But people don’t lie on the Internet. That’s what the Indian guy from “Windows” support told me on the phone right before I gave him my CC number.

    2. They are lying for themself.Maybe there are milions of millions who buy it for consoles…

Steamspy says for Lords of :

      Owners: 777,013 ± 27,079
      Players in the last 2 weeks: 12,353 ± 3,417 (1.59%)
      Players total: 602,586 ± 23,851 (77.55%)

Yeah, they are “happy” with their products. Not!

      1. Even so, 750K at the low end it’s pretty solid for a new IP, especially with how mediocre the reception was. Doesn’t include console sales either.

  3. what does that exactly means? 7 million players? but how many copies? they mean 7 million characters? as if I play 5 times the game i’m 5 players? are they making up stats?

  4. I don’t know why no one has made a third-person melee combat game in the vein of Double Dragon, only in 3D. That’s what I want.

    1. Oh man, that would be awesome, but I don’t see it happening. You should try Double Dragon Forever, it’s the best remake out there.

      1. I was thinking a third-person melee combat game with an camera view like any open world game, or even like Bayonetta. Like a mix between Double Dragon and Mortal Kombat. Just fighting dudes with fists, feet, elbows and knees. Maybe with cinematic x-ray finishes or VATS-like cinematic finishes.

Godhand was the closest thing I’ve seen to what I want and that came out a decade ago.

  5. Ghost warrior should be atleast 1 million on all systems. Oh well i hope it was cheap, nothing like making AAA quality games (for the most part) and be happy with low sales due to lower costs.

All games are alike these days, we need more oginality so games can be made with lower budgets.

  6. “We are in talks with potential partners”
They released all of these useless stats to find a publisher. EA suits them.
